Small snack of carrots and snap peas, eaten with ranch dip

Last thing I drank was a lemon La Croix

Tri-tip steak, pan seared, finished over charcoal, corn on the cob that was just this morning still in the field. Dessert was cantaloupe from Rocky Ford, Colorado. If you’ve never had Rocky Ford melons you’re missing out. They are the best available in America. The little town in the Arkansas River valley in Colorado had the perfect combination of hot sunny days, cool nights, and abundant water from the river. They are crazy good.

Ok. This is going to sound weird, but you should really try it. Some times we will grill cantaloupe slices. It’s great with chili powder and honey. We also sometimes grill watermelon slices. Soak them in tequila and brush them with a honey lime mixture. (Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.) (Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)

I’m going to steal that watermelon recipe.

You grill it and then add the honey, lime and tequila?

Sorry for the typos. My screen is being naughty.

First course penne pasta with marinara. Second course, mozzarella and sorpressata (it’s an Italian salami) with Italian bread. I would have had wine, but I had none. So I had water.

I never thought to put peanut butter with tomato or avocado. What’s it taste like?

I’m well versed in Italian foods. My cardiologist would say I’m a little too well versed.

The Mediterranean diet is supposed to be the healthiest 😉.

I had tomatoes for lunch, so it balances itself out. 😉

See one of me earlier posts in this thread. Chicken, couscous, with za’atar and other Israeli spices.

Soak them in tequila. Brush them with the honey and lime. Then grill them just long enough for the char marks.

Barbecued chicken, home fries, corn-on-the-cob, and fresh tomato slices, washed down with a good Canadian brew.

Watermelon and tea. Hot tea. That came from here in South Carolina. South Carolina tea is delicious.
