Names within the bible

So, as I’ve gotten to take additional opportunities to read the Bible more and more, I’m still kinda try to figure out, who’s who? I know Mary, Joseph, Luther and obviously Jesus, yet I’m not getting the affiliation towards others. Moses and David, for example, I’m not getting the connection, yet I know I should?

Hello nvr2018. It seems you are just starting on reading Scripture and learning the beautiful Bible history of our faith - the people and events. I don’t know your age, but even if you are elderly and just beginning, I think it would speed the whole process of learning if you began with a young person’s book on Bible history. Examples of a couple I found online are here and here Getting that basic elementary framework will be a big help. You would probably read through them quickly, but you would become familiar with the people and events that were most important in Scripture. From there, you might be interested in beginning to read about them directly in the Bible.

Another option would be If your Church has a library, check out their children’s section for bible stories. I remember buying a children’s bible for my children (MANY years ago) and reading the stories to them. It helped me (probably more than my children ) to learn the important people in Scripture and to get a view of the whole picture of God’s action in human history.
