I have recently started on the NaProTechnology program due to infertility. I have read a lot about their positive results but somehow I find It hard to believe that I will one day hold a baby in my arms. At the same time we are thinking about adoption. For some reason I find it easier to believe that I could get a child this way.
So I am hoping very much to hear some NaProTechnology stories/experiences from you guys. Good or bad it does not matter.
Sincerely,
Amber

I don’t have any NaPro stories but just wanted to express my sympathies to you. I hope that whatever decision you come to (whether adopting or deciding to wait longer to see if you become pregnant) that you feel that the right decision was made.

After giving birth to two children who died before birth, I took my charts to Dr. Hilgers. He diagnosed me with a thyroid problem, an infection that had went undetected and low progesterone. I had to supplement T3 and progesterone and we took antibiotics for the infection. I now have a beautiful and healthy three week old.
I will pray you have a wonderful outcome!

After I got a NaPro dr. who saw my charts, got me tested, I was diagnosed with PCOS. I too started to look into adoption because I just didn’t think I had the heart to go through trying drugs, the possible side effects, etc. Well very shortly thereafter I started feeling awful and I thought it was from the Metformin I was taking, but it was morning sickness 😉 According to all the tests I shouldn’t have been ovulating but obviously God had other plans. I hope you also have a happy ending either from successful treatment or adoption (or both!).

I’m so sorry to hear about your troubles with infertility. As someone who’s suffered miscarriages and who’s waiting for a baby to come home (via foster/adopt) I wish I was there to give you a hug!
I don’t have any experience with Napro Tech. I am, however, in the process of adopting. Please don’t think of it as an either/or! As much as you long for a bio baby, adopting makes a family that loves each other and treasures each other just as much. Please don’t feel that it’s second best! You can do both - and adoption can be far more affordable than you think.
I’ll keep you in my prayers!

Well, I’m single, so I don’t know anything about trying to get pregnant. But, I do have PCOS really bad, and I started down the NaProTechnology route last year. I did 6 months of charting (which I had to learn long-distance, over the phone, because there aren’t any local teachers around here). And then I went out to Omaha, had some minor surgery, got my diagnosis confirmed, and started taking metformin and getting shots. (They want to do some thyroid therapy on me too…but I can’t swallow the pills, so I’ve been trying to teach myself how to swallow for the last 2 months now. Aaugh!! )

I feel pretty encouraged…even if it seems like nothing is happening yet…I think it’s gonna take a while 🤷

Thank you for all your shared thoughts and experiences:)
Dkoinzan, what a story. It brings me hope.
Pentecostbaby I would love to have both kinds of children. I was planning to apply for domestic adoption next year but to my great dissapointment I found out a few days ago that the number of couples on the waiting list has gone up tremendously while only a few kids are up for adoption every year. So suddenly my plan B seems to have gone down the drain. Somehow I only see big mountains in front of me right now. I am really hoping for the best, that my “luck” may change some time…
Hugs
