Hi everybody
I was looking at this nice homepage about NaProTech and the Greighton method. Since I live far away from any center of that kind I want to ask if anyone knows if there is a good book about Creighton? One that really teach the practise of it and includes the details?
I hope for your help
Love, Amber

When you sign up you do get a book as reference but you have to learn from a Fertility Care Practitioner- not self-teach. It’s a very standardized method taught over a certain time frame and number of meetings. How far away is your nearest instructor? Maybe you could make it to the first couple sessions and they could do the rest over the phone? I would contact them to see if they could work it out. There are not many around here either so I can sympathize. I tried to self teach with STM but a few months before the wedding I decided I just didn’t feel confident enough, and luckily the town I was in did have an instructor. I felt much better having someone to look at my chart, give me tips, etc. HTH!

Creighton books are available only through a Creighton instructor.

Dr. Hilgers has trained MANY doctors and fertility care practioners and they are all over the country.

www.fertilitycare.org and www.creightonmodel.com are websites that can help you locate an instructor. They also will consult long distance.

And, the www.popepaulvi.com website and/or phone number can put you in touch with trained doctors across the nation.

Hi guys
I live in Denmark. And the nearest centre is in UK. I might be able to afford the ticket there but I can’t afford the course. I struggle with fertility issues.
So what am I supposed to do? Sometimes I just get angry because money really determines what is possible even in such cases where Catholics have taken things in their own hands. If I would do IVF or IUI the state here would pay all the costs (through our taxes) but as a Catholic who can’t make use of such things I am really quite helpless.
How frustrating:mad:

Call or email the center in the UK and see what options they may have for you. You may be pleasantly surprised. They may have suggestions or help for your situation.

Good Luck!

You can learn Creighton long distance. So, contact the UK people about doing that. I know that Dr. Hilgers has consulted long distance with people who send their charts to him. Eventually they did have to go to a center, but all the initial stuff was long distance.

I understand where you are coming from… I find it incredibly frustrating that you have to pay so much money to learn the method!! I really wanted to learn Creighton because I have some fertility issues and there are no NFP doctors near where I live (I would have to drive for days, or fly to see one).

I contact my nearest Creighton centre (which is really far away), and to learn through distance was going to cost me a ridiculous amount of money that I don’t have!

Can someone please explain why they charge so much?? Why isn’t it free like Billings teaching (which is what I know/use now)?

Hi there

Creighton instruction feeds are always on a sliding scale. Perhaps you didn’t fully communicate your financial situation.

As to why it isn’t free-- well, people are doing this as their job so they deserve to be paid a wage. The materials cost money to produce.

Why does everyone want something for “free”??? People deserve to be paid a wage for their work.

I too needed to learn this method, and there weren’t any teachers within driving distance. I was able to do everything by phone, internet, and mail. (Well, until I actually went out to Creighton for surgery this summer; hard to do that over the phone!!) 😃

Yeah, it costs a little bit, but it’s worth it to have a real person you can talk to.
