Emails obtained by FOX 17 News appear to show that the two offices seemingly conspired to conceal data showing that while construction and nursing homes led to more than a thousand cases each as of June 30th, only 22 cases had been traced to bars and restaurants.

In a discussion of the numbers, Leslie Waller from the health department asked, “This isn’t going to be publicly released, right? Just info for Mayor’s Office?”

“Correct, not for public consumption,” replied senior advisor Benjamin Eagles.

And if they report the numbers? It would make the State look worse than it already is.

not really related to the OP. The issue here is about hiding information because it might make the leadership look bad.

This is nothing new political wise. This is what politics do. The reason why politicians choose to say either 20% or 250,000 people. Which ever give the bigger optics, is the number that politicians will use.

What this report does seem to show, is the violation of people rights in the USA. We have the right to peacefully assemble. So this can be a lawsuit on the making.

What you are not hearing is that the Mayor and the City Council rammed a 34% property tax increase on Davidson county as well. Referendums and recalls are now on the agenda… (32% was proposed and a petition to stop it was monkeyed with at the mail in level and qualifying petitions were thrown out because a postal employee was told to withhold them). Then after that they approved a 34% increase… So the mayor and the council really did a nasty deed here and ruined a lot of people’s livelyhoods for no good reason.

The Davidson County Covid graphs displayed above are misleading. The case average and death rate are pretty flat. Not much different than anywhere else if you account for population density…

Nashvillians are piping mad. There are going be some nasty lawsuits over this as well.

If you pay attention to local politics and not CNN or Foxnews, you’ll see if is hardly a fake scandal. Nation networks will see this as a means for their national agenda. The local news seems to actually care about Nashville and her residents.

Absolutely correct. Leave it to the King of Fake news to call real reporting fake. They cherry picked their story to make people disbelieve it…

Here’s a collection of the local news. What’s going on is really disturbing… It’s a bit long but the last part is really revealing.

Yes, please do pay attention to Fox. They have apologized, “admitting that the mayor did not conceal information from the public as alleged.”

Yes, the proper term would be exaggerated. Concealed is too universal. Probably more like, didn’t make a huge attempt to let everyone know…
And yet the effect is still the same.

Nashvillians are still calling for him to resign over this, and there is still the lawsuit which is very real on the same presupposition. Let’s face it, he lied about the numbers in retaliation to keep downtown closed and then hiked taxes 34%.

When I first heard of the Nashville situation of not reporting the low numbers of COVID infected individuals that frequent bars, it reminded me of an alcohol study done in 2002 by Harvard and a Spanish University.

The study found that those that drank moderate amounts of wine or other alcohol experience significantly fewer instances of a cold or flu infection. The reduction rate was 88% fewer colds/flu for the moderate wine drinkers compared to teetotalers.

further developments…

And now this!
