Those may well be the unexaggerated facts; I have no reason – and not enough knowledge – to doubt you, so I believe you. What I also know, however, is that those huffery-puffery forum-score’em posts I referred to on this thread are not borne out by the programme of events pointed at by the OP. I’m only an Anglican by nationality 😉 but I sense a lot of posters here are like greyhounds in the slips waiting for a juicy opportunity to get outraged by the Episcopal Church. Don’t you?
I’m moderately restrained.

steido01 is correct.

Fair enough, fair enough. 😛

You may be right. The morsel given by the OP mightn’t be juicy enough, on its own, to warrant the salivating that’s gone on here - but I can’t entirely blame the hounds if the fox repeatedly trots across the lawn. Perception typically has at least some basis in the patterns of reality.

:doh2: Your wit continues to slay me, Picky; I literally lol’d. Clever, clever…

Thank you for your generosity. And … fair enough.

I am shocked but not surprised-somewhere there must be a happy medium-our Congregation is presently searching for a Rector-so we had a “fill in Priest” yesterday-

he is a Very right Reverend -sort of like a Catholic Monsignor-he conducted a very Anglo Catholic Service (fairly strict Rite 1) -the comments were furious-“well at least he left out the incense” sort of summed it up-

In the Episcopal Church most of the Congregations are middle of the road-wanting to keep our traditions but also desiring modernity -banging tambourines and rock music are not my cup of tea nor is the stiff non joyous service given yesterday-

Eastern religions do not belong in a Christian Church-

somebody in the Episcopal Church needs to says the words STOP & NO

Our Presiding Bishop is not about to do so
You are always welcome to come home! 🙂

And to get enraged by non far-right politics. Catholics and Evangelicals seem to me to be odd bed fellows, but they are united by far right politics. Only in the USA. 😦

Yes, the Stations are inspiring.
I have been there several times, each time we visit relatives in Milwaukee. Love it.
If you could suggest a Lutheran shrine-type place (Lutherans have shrines maybe?), preferably in the Eastern US or Canada, I would try to visit.
Or an Episcopal shrine. I’m pretty sure they have them.
A must see church in Milwaukee is the basilica of St. Josaphat on the south side of the city. One of the most beautiful churches anywhere.

My Anglican grandmother ( Church of Canada) always took me to St. Joseph’s Oratory (Brothr Andre) in Montreal when we would visit-she apparently met him and he once came to their house in Montreal-I highly recommend it

It was not till I was an adult that I realized it was a Catholic shrine-then that was the day when the Anglicans and Catholics in Canada had very cordial elations-before the Bishop Schorri regimen

I want to thank the person who invited me " to come home" -I love the Episcopal Church I just hate some of the things that are happening-the Anglican Church in North America has little if any traction in this part of Florida-every Episcopalean that converts to Rome makes the Catholic church more conservative and every Catholic that joins the Episcopal Church makes ECUSA more liberal

:o

I visited the Oratory last Summer for the first time, loved it.
I agree that every Catholic who switches to Episcopal makes that church more liberal, etc. However, the Ordinariate will add something new to the Catholic Church; can’t say more liberal or conservative, just more interesting.

👍

Just think about it. Might be the Holy Spirit calling you home. 🙂

And maybe look into the Anglican Ordinariate the Vatican set up to bring Anglicans into the Church. 👍

God Bless!

Emphasis added.

Even Cardinal Kasper said “We are not fishing in the Anglican pond.”

That is so sad. What next. Poker tables and slot machines…!
From spiritual health, to physical, to …??? Directionally, seems to be in reverse order. I thought the Bible ask us to focus on heavenly stuff and those not those of earth. I forgot which verse but I thought there was something like that.
