Hello Guys-

Tonight My husband, myself and my little cuties (boys) where out for a drive after Mass. We saw a church called “National Catholic Church”. What is the National Catholic Church? Are they the same as us Roman Catholics? If not why are they different?

In Christian Love, as always,

Jillian

I’d stay away from it. The easiest way to verify is to look on the diocese’s listing of parishes. If it cannot be found, it is certainly no Roman Catholic church, and you should avoid it.

Apparently the ANCC was founded in 2009 AD by a doctor of the soft-sciences. The Catholic Church was founded in 33 AD by the Creator of doctors. The ANCC seems to cater to failed priests who are gay as well as lesbians who want to play priestess.

Quick search turned up THIS which had this most interesting entry on the home page…

We are one of a number of valid branches of Catholicism, not under the jurisdiction of Rome, offering all seven sacraments to all who come honestly seeking a relationship with Christ.

hhhmmmmmmm…

Peace

So basically they’re Protestants, but the type that like to pretend that they’re still Catholic even though they reject everything that it takes to be Catholic. Got it.

This is a genuine imitation Catholic Church 😛

“The National Catholic Church of North America, not under the jurisdiction of Rome, offers all Seven Sacraments to all who seek them.”

This may be one of the “churches” that priests who have left the real Catholic Church go.😃

Not suspicious at all:rolleyes:

Don’t bother when them, OP. They are not in communion with Rome, and they seem to be schismatic…describing themselves as “independent Catholics” and they are along the same lines as the Old Catholics, and various other “Old” churches…such as the Polish National Catholic Church, which is hardly what it suggests.

If you look under the Parishes tab at the bottom of the page you’ll also see:
*We are in full communion with the Catholic Church, Inc…
*

Rights and Freedoms
The National Catholic Church of North America, following the guidance of Bishop Duarte-Costa, respects “…freedom of thought in matters…religious, civil, political, scientific, and philosophical … not permitting any person to be questioned under any pretext in relation to his beliefs, so that his rights and obligations are not conditioned or limited in any way” (quotations from the English translation of the Statutes of ICAB (1945)). Therefore, the National Catholic Church of North America leaves to the informed conscience of our people matters which are properly theirs to decide before God.
So basically, you can make up whatever belief you want and call yourself “Catholic”

How is this different from the dissenters?

In the same category as Orthodox, Old Catholic, Polish Nat’l, Traditional Catholic, Palmarian Catholic, etc.

Schismatic. Though it seems that doctrine would also be a heresy…

Okay. I googled it and your right. Its like imitation Catholics. They believe in naughty stuff. I think even most Protestant sects would disagree with gay and transgendered pastors. I think an easy way to put it is its like imitation crab. Who would want to eat imitation crab when you can have the real thing. :😃

I also noticed on that page they were soliciting ex priest. I think I am going to stick to my traditional RCC. I have never seen this church before. They shouldn’t even be allowed to have Catholic in the name. They sounded too new age…

Even the Church herself doesn’t put the Orthodox in the same category as those other guys.

You are correct but the Orthodox is in schism.
Either they are in schism with us or we are in schism with them…🤷

Let’s let the folks charged with seeking reunification sort this one out…👍

Peace

Othodox and Polish National Catholic Churches are not schismatic.

Also both of those are welcome to receive communion in the Catholic Church.
