Today marks the beginning of the annual NFP awareness week in the US. Just curious how many diocese or parish actually acknowledge it?

Every year my wife and I sponsor NFP awareness week in our parish. We offer a free NFP training class as well as provide pamphlets, prayer cards, copies of Humanae Vitae, etc. completely out of our own pockets. The only acknowledgement of NFP awareness week is perhaps a 5 second announcement about us hosting coffee and doughnuts.

So i was just curious if it is more widely acknowledged in other parts of the US.

In our parish it is WIDELY taught and used. We “bill” ourselves as a pro life pro family parish. In our Parish are instructors for the three main methods.

In the entire diocese that I used to live in there is 1 couple for a whole diocese/state that teach it. And they have no students right now.

I am “aware” of NFP as I used to instruct. But we do not use NFP anymore.

Just curious, Who designates something a “national week” Who declared NFP national awareness week?

Every year the USCCB declares the week that corresponds with the anniversary of Humanae Vitae (July 25) to be National NFP awareness week. It is purpose is to be a week long national education campaign to bring extra focus to NFP, but it is left to individual dioceses on how to implement it. Each year the USCCB develops a new theme and poster with some basic media resources. You can read more here.

I was just curious how many diocese actual acknowledge the existence of NFP awareness week.
