If God is against abortion as we all believe why in nature that he created have plants that we are given that do things like cause an abortion. And there is a fruit that a woman can eat and she will never get pregnant again or ever? And what about miscarriages. The body expels the problemed fetus in favor of the woman having a miscarriage?

It is impossible for every event to correspond perfectly to the purposes for which it is intended because the universe is not directly controlled by God. Within the framework of Design the element of chance has to be taken into account and accepted as the price of an extremely complex and immensely valuable system. It is unreasonable to expect to have everything for nothing!

I’ve never heard about such a fruit… anyways I would argue in the case of the plant, you know there also exist plants in nature that are very poisonous to eat, and also there are many diseases that kill humans such as cancer. So if you are asking questions such as “why are there miscarriages and why are there plants that render women infertile,” then to me these questions sound the same as “why are there poisonous fruits and why do people get cancer.” This leads us to the problem of evil/suffering.

Think of this:

God is against murder. so why are there plants that kill you if you eat them and there are fatal accidents? But poison is not murder and accidents are not murser.

As you see the argument is non-sequitur.

When we speak against abortion we speak of inflicted Abortion.

Inflicted Abortion and murder are voluntary actions, not accidents.

Poisons that might cause an abortion are not an abortion and spontaneous abortion and miscarriage is not inflicted abortion.

So when prolifers speak against abortion they mean, primarily, inflicted abortion. Of course prolifers are also against miscarriage, but that is a different matter and is not a voluntary action.

God holds us accountable only by what we voluntarily do or omit to do, not by something beyond our control.
The body expels the problemed fetus in favor of the woman having a miscarriage?
I think that during miscarriage the fetus is already dead. If not it is still something that went wrong in the beginning of the pregnancy, not something the mother wanted.

Poisons of many origins are often purified to become powerful medicines for healing.

Spontaneous abortion occurs when God decides to not allow a child to live. The same thing happens when God decides a centenarian should no longer live. The Creator is not beholden to laws He established for humanity.

“Abortion” and “miscarriage” are technically synonyms, and mean the same thing. What is sinful is an “induced abortion” (or even an induced miscarriage), because this is the murder of an unborn child.

Dying of natural causes, however, is not sinful. Some unborn children are simply too sick to survive :(.

A miscarriage is actually when the mother’s body sees the unborn child as a foreign object, and tries to expel it. It’s nature going wrong, which is obviously not(though obviously not in every case) willed by God.

Ouch. Care to rethink or rephrase that?

God is the author of life. He created all of us and is the reason for life. Therefore, God is the only one has the right to take our life at his discretion since our life belongs to him, and since we all owe everything to him. It’s not for us to try to “play God”. God originally created man to live forever, but with the fall came spiritual and physical death and the possibility to either end up in Heaven or Hell forever. God gave us a Church to answer all our questions about faith and morals, so it’s up to us whether or not we utilize the wisdom he offers us through the one, holy, catholic, and apostolic church.

But we are not playing God when we do things to prevent natural abortion (aka miscarriage?)

I had many miscarriages before the medical profession figured out that my body was rejecting the fetus due to having Antiphopholipids (also called anti-cardiolipins). As a result of this auto-immune disorder, I was spontaneously clotting the early forming fetus, which then died and was expelled.

This was new science at the time, and the then experimental treatment consisted of taking 1/2 an aspirin twice a day and injecting heparin into fatty tissue on the abdomen twice a day.

The good news, was this would probably work, the bad news - they also discovered that I had started menopause early and was hormonally unable to conceive.

God had other ideas - I conceived within 30 days of being told it was impossible – doing but the normal marital act. Then I used the medical idea of aspirin and heparin and 9 months later, my son was born (my miracle baby, for sure).

So… did I work against God by taking aspirin and heparin and have my baby? I sure as heck worked against society by refusing an abortion when I found out my baby would have Down syndrome before he was born. I think I did the right thing though most pregnant women are told NOT to take aspirin much less heparin (a blood thinner) during pregnancy.

And yes, the correct term for a miscarriage is “abortion” or “natural abortion”, not miscarriage. I had enough miscarriage/abortions due to my undiagnosed auto-immune disorder to have heard that term and see it on my hospital files.

Those misses were horrible. Why did God permit them? I have no clue. Why did my one and only miracle baby have to have a disability? No clue. But I can tell you this much - what seemed a curse turned out to be a blessing. I wouldn’t trade my son for anything in the world, DS or not.

This is how I see things. Not like doom and gloom and an out of control God as some. Before we come into this world there are agreements made that we are going to be a “victim” of this person or thing. Or we are going to die at infancy. There are some that might disagree with this. But when God creates he creates a garden and others come and plant their seed in his ground. God is the first cause. The cause of causes and other spiritual beings sometimes ourselves are allowed to get involved. We are all in this together. Krishna once said “Great things happen When one gives his life.” I think of our lord but that goes for infants too. Maybe the baby spirit(s) that was in your miscarriage experiences is heading on being a saint. All suffering is self induced but we can let it purify us.

God bless

These are the ravages of sin. The universe, nature and humans are decaying. Every generation it gets worse.
