If we had very simple, very useful and very general answer, there would be no need for specialised scientists.

Sometimes difficult questions can be answered simply.

Sometimes, some questions.

But not “How to do science?”.

For example, if the answer to this question includes the answer to the question “How to get funds and permits for building a giant particle accelerator?”, the answer is no longer simple. And if it does not include it, it is not going to be very general or very useful.

Although, of course, in some special cases the answer is “Observe and look for patterns, review opinions of the ones who worked before you.”, which is rather simple. But Aristotle already did much of that science, leaving the hard (and often costly) parts for us…
