And here is St. Augustine on natural law, so that you can put to bed any notion that Aquinas owes his views on natural law to Aristotle through the Arabs.
So the Moors never occupied Spain and therefore the famous mosque (now cathedral) of Córdoba doesn’t exist. Therefore Averroes (ibn Rushd) was never born in Còrdoba and the statue of him which I’ve seen with my own eyes doesn’t exist. Averroes never wrote commentaries on Aristotle which were then read by Aquinas, and the Catholic Encyclopedia article on him is a load of baloney. Bishop Bonny also has his history wrong, as do all those Catholic theologians, as does the entire world except for you.

As I said, read up on natural law theories, they’re interesting. I’m out of here.

Hit and run! 😉

As I said, Aquinas did not need the Arabs to understand natural law since it was already propounded by St. Paul and Saint Augustine, whom he would have read long before Aristotle was encountered through the Arab translations.

Likewise, Martin Luther did not need Aristotle to explain natural law to him since he knew it in his mental bones even without Moses. 👍

If there had been any substance in your position would have stuck around to see it through? 🤷
