"Nature's" laws!

I am to share a philosophical opinion, not to fight. I shall use words such as know, but I am still sharing an opinion.

Law: the consistencies nature displays in its property and function of energy and matter.

The property of our intellect is that it can reason.

Our ability to reason creates human artifacts such as math, automobiles, and rockets.

It is rather easy to see the infusion of reason in those human made objects.

Our reason can also see other natural laws such as reason, courage, sobriety, and love.

Our ability to reason is proper or property of our intellect.

Sobriety is proper to humans.

When one consumes vast quantities of intoxicating beverages, one always impairs one’s ability to reason, at least for a short period of time. This is a consistent property and function of alcohol on the human’s ability to reason.

We can see and predict things concerning gravity.

We can see and predict things about our ability to reason and drunkenness.

The beauty of the predictability of the natural laws that govern both the physical sciences and the natural law that govern human behavior is that I can see the future of sobriety and drunkenness.

I know that this can be applied to justice, love, truth, kindness, and courage, just to mention a few.

I am not here to fight, but to share a philosophical opinion.

I am most open to critique.

Oh, I wanted to edit the first post.

I want to say that although I am stating an opinion, I am most confident it is accurate.

I still want to be critiqued.

There is something missing that makes the reasoning improper for human beings: Freedom.
If you put a light in a gasoline can…Boooom
With humans it is not like that: it may boooom ot not-boooom, depending on freedom. Though naturally it should be AAA, the freedom of man may make him do non-AAA.

… do you know what they said about jesus ??? , " he eats and drinks like a drunkard and a glutton " , all is not so clear on laws as we might think , that is my quick observation if you like dear friend …

Am I reading into your opinion if I say that if human reasoning can correctly forsee the adverse effects of drunkenness, then human reasoning on its own should serve as a deterrent to excessive drinking or drunkenness?

Were it not for the matter of sin, your opinion would hold much more weight. Sin is the driving force behind much of the evil in the world today and behind much of the self sabotage alcoholics experience. Jesus, when he came to earth said, “I came to heal the sick” (not for those who were well). The sick he was talking about were those who were broken (through sin of some kind ) to the point where alcohol or drugs or sex were the only fixes that could dull the pain in their empty lives. Jesus did not see drunkenness as the issue but as the manifesation of sin in a person’s life. Jesus was able, with compassion and love, to not only walk with the broken hearted, but to turn their lives around.

Even though man has free will, once he opens the door to sin, he is in bondage and becomes a slave to his passions. Only Jesus can break that hold and only Jesus can set us free. That is why he came and that is why he will return for us (very soon ) one day.

I am aware of the Biblical teaching on the Fall, sin and Grace.

In one post, one cannot cover all of the relative distinctions.

Furthermore, I want to thank all for their comments.

Also, this is a philosophical thread. I am a strong believer in grace; and I have experienced too much of my own personal sin to forget about it. I have grown so much that I grateful for God’s grace.
