I am pondering getting a Study Bible after I visited Opus Dei’s website and saw the this one mentioned, being issued by their publishing company. Does anyone have it and if so is it good? Opus Dei is to my knowledge well known for their fidelity to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church.

Yes, the Navarre Bible is very good. The commentary is faithful to the teaching of the Church and quite extensive. The Nova Vulgata, New Vulgate, is also included which is the official Bible of the Church.

Published by Scepter Publishing. I got most of mine on Ebay, a few used from Amazon. These books are about 40% commentary. If you are really in to reading commentary you can’t go wrong. They have a compact edition of the new testament but the notes are harder to read due to text size. I don’t just sit down and read one of these, but I do usually go to them for answers.
