Was not the concordat signed just after Hitler came to power? 1934? This was way before WII and the attacks on jews, may people saw Hitler as the only way of getting out of the economic depression at the time. Hitler had presented himself as a legitimate candidate at that time and had abandoned violent methods, few people suspected that he would bring about war and mass exterminations. Some churches did stand up to Hitler when they realised he was a tyrant and the catholic church activley stopped his euthinasia program despite the fact that many Christians remained silent. Possibly these photos were taken just after Hitler came to power.

I don’t know if my information is very accurate so please don’t take it as fact

This page has pictures of Archbishops visiting Hitlers birthday party, Nuns getting autographs from Hitler, Nazis signing The Concordat at the Vatican, Hitler in Catholic Mass, Catholics saluting Hitler to his face… wilingly; Hitler greeting a Catholic Cardinal, Spanish Bishops giving the facist salute, a Cardinal marching with nazis, socialist bishops in nazi parades, and priests saluting Hitler. Guess they didn’t know about all the Catholic surpression happening in Europe… maybe. I guess there are Nazi Catholics today and yesterday. It doesn’t surprise me.
