NBC calls goddess Athena "Greece's patron saint"

Though the (brief) treatment of Greece’s Christian heritage was done well, what saddened me was how the pageant implied that it was just another period in the timeline of the nation’s history, on an equal footing with its pagan past and its secular present.

I don’t know, i was glad that the christian history was equal to the pagan history. If you ask anyone what they think of Greece, they’ll say mythology almost gauranteed. Nobody think of Greece as christian, they think of it as pagan. So the fact that they added in that history at all was really well done. I’m sure before that there were people who still believed that Greeks worshipped Zeus.
