If so, I have misjudged you. If not, my original reply stands and it was rather uncharitable of you to criticize Goodman’s reaction to the heat in the fashion that you did.

#1 I like Goodman as an actor. #2 I watched him in an air conditioned studio doing an Inside the Actors segment and his morbid obesity had him sweating profusly in a mere suit. He nees to lose weight not only for his health but asthetically as well

I understand your concerns (although studio lights are quite hot, as well), I just didn’t agree with the harshness of your tone. And wanted to point out that it was exceptionally hot and anyone in a furry suit would have been in trouble. As it was, Goodman required oxygen on several ocassions.

I loved John Goodman on Roseanne. But I saw him interviewed on Ellen and my parents and I just gasped when we saw him basically struggling to breathe and sweating profusely during the interview (although it was outside…and in FL I think…so it would be hot.) But other guests were not…it was clearly his weight…I like him as an actor, but his health is severely jeopardized. One actor I think of is Ethan Supplee, who has played many overweight characters, and is now playing Randy on My Name Is Earl. He has lost a ton of weight from 2 early 2000’s movies I saw him in where he was morbidly obese. Although he is a character actor with success playing overweight characters, it was clear his weight was hurting him healthwise, and I’m glad to see he’s lost at least some of it. I mean, John Goodman would most likely not get work as an inshape actor, but to get this overweight is dangerous.
