You’re absolutely right, Our Lady is Mother to All.
You’re absolutely right, Our Lady is Mother to AllThanks. I’ll look it up on Amazon.May I recommend The Case for Catholicism by Trent Horn. I’m not even a Christian but I found the book to be very thorough, easy to read and clairifies all the differences between Catholicism and Protestantism and the biblical and early church fathers for every point. This may be exactly what you need to answer your questions, especially ones that Protestants tend to claim aren’t in the Bible. I was impressed!
Btw, if you feel you can’t afford the book but are interested in it, I will gift it to you. I really want you to find answers and be at peace with them.
If the bishops lack teaching authority, then the Bible is ipso facto a sham.He was saying that there’s “very few things the CC got right;” “none (or maybe some) of the stuff the CC teaches is in the Bible, they just made it up out of thin air;” “Catholics lied since the 1300’s and its in writings”…among other things.” He said that you can ask priests things, (challenge him) to find stuff the Church teaches in the Bible and it’s just not in there.
For me, the Catholic Tradition is the only tradition (including this ND tradition you speak of) that makes sense from Genesis to Revelation. Most other traditions, you have to ignore parts of the bible or explain one part in a manner which contradicts how that tradition explains another part.I’ve learned a LOT here, much of what’s is in direct opposition to what this pastor said. How do we know our teachings, traditions etc. are correct?
Well, I took that class at the Non Denominational church I’d been considering. The lead pastor, whom I’d describe as a showman, had a lot of rude comments about the Catholic Church, all the while trying to make it sound like he wasn’t against the Church.

https://www.catholic.com/index.php/tract/scripture-and-traditionProtestants claim the Bible is the only rule of faith, meaning that it contains all of the material one needs for theology and that this material is sufficiently clear that one does not need apostolic tradition or the Church’s magisterium (teaching authority) to help one understand it. In the Protestant view, the whole of Christian truth is found within the Bible’s pages. Anything extraneous to the Bible is simply non-authoritative, unnecessary, or wrong—and may well hinder one in coming to God.
Catholics, on the other hand, recognize that the Bible does not endorse this view and that, in fact, it is repudiated in Scripture. The true “rule of faith”—as expressed in the Bible itself—is Scripture plus apostolic tradition, as manifested in the living teaching authority of the Catholic Church, to which were entrusted the oral teachings of Jesus and the apostles, along with the authority to interpret Scripture correctly.
Where is it repudiated in Scripture?Catholics, on the other hand, recognize that the Bible does not endorse this view and that, in fact, it is repudiated in Scripture.
You should read the linked article and study it for it provides the answer. But one place is:Vico:![]()

15 Therefore, brothers, stand firm and hold fast to the traditions that you were taught, either by an oral statement or by a letter of ours.
You’re probably right.Leave that church and don’t go back. The pastor you’ve been talking to wants to collect Catholics the way a hunter mounts trophies. He doesn’t care about you or your soul, but wants to “convert” another “clueless Catholic” who has been “lied to” all these years.
It needs to be put to you bluntly: stop considering all of these “non-denominational” Churches.
Neither have I. He’s never talked like that during church, and today he said something, trying to make it sound like he’s not anti Catholic but then he’d blather on. He did say one sort of nice thing about Catholicism. He kind of mimicked our music (I’d said that I love theirs) and he said that he kind of likes ours. So there is that.Sounds like he defines his church as “We’re not Catholic!”I notice this a lot with protestant preachers. “We’re not Catholics!” Pretty sad when that is your entire identity. Why can’t they enjoy what they have without running down Catholic beliefs? I have never, not once, ever heard a Catholic priest say one negative thing about protestants.
“During church”He’s never talked like that during church,
