Hello,
I recently heard a commentary from a well-known scripture scholar who answered the question “Who married Cain?”. He responded by stating Adam and Eve had several other children, and that the human family took off from there.
However the next thing he said was unsettling: He stated that his opinion was that Cain may have intermingled with another species around at the same time, for example Neanderthal man. My question is does this not go against Church teaching which states that we are required to believe we are all descended from one set of original parents (Adam and Eve)? How can Neanderthal man or any of their supposed descendants be included in salvation history if they are not decendants of Adam and Eve?
Thanks for any (name removed by moderator)ut!
