Supporting reform of a law is not illegal though.Seems pretty simple to me: Immigration is OK, illegal immigration is a crime. Looks like the bishops are encouraging illegal behavior. Send them back to preaching the Word.

To force this country, the United States, to become a third world nation due to those you have allowed into US by doing nothing.
Why aren’t the Bishops in favor of a uniform immigration act based on the population of countries around the world rather than so called “Catholic countries”.
If this were the case, millions of illegal immigrants would be removed from the US and in their place, people from really poor areas of the world would be invited to the US to become citizens.
That WOULD be fair to the rest of the world, but Latin Americans would not see it that way. They would feel that their church was betraying them. They would know what it’s like to be an American Catholic.
