Learning the prayer…
Bénedic, Dómine, nos et haec tua dona quae de tua largitate sumus sumpturi.
Per Christum Dóminum nostrum. Amen.
I’m having trouble locating (via search here and Google) on the phonetic pronunciation. Latin is pretty phonetic anyway, but “largitate” trips me up as to which part of the word is emphasized. Largi-taaa-tee? Struggling convert here on my end.
We’re having a rather important family dinner with the much admired father-in-law. He’s sorta on his last legs. However, he history is rich. B17 gunner, tried the seminary in late 40’s, but decided family life was God’s calling. He was successful. Anyway, I’d like to say the blessing in Latin.
Any help greatly appreciated.
