**Last summer, I had arthroscopic surgery on my right knee, and now my left knee needs it. Well, my friend works as a manager at a store and offered to help me get a job there. Because my knee was not too bad at the time, I thanked her and agreed that that would be a great idea.

Fast forward a couple of months, I got hired two weeks ago and started working, and I really liked the job. I then left on a vacation this past Wednesday, and what do I do while visiting Gettysburg, PA? I injure my knee…pretty badly. My job requires a huge amount of standing and walking, and I knew that I would no longer be able to do it. It was difficult enough getting around while on vacation and it was only by the grace of God that I was able to drive eight hours to get home.

So I message my friend, telling her that I am very sorry and asking her to please understand. She had a FIT, telling me that she went through so much for me, etc. In other words, she is furious. She then posted on fb about me, saying how I lied to her and betrayed her. But what really, really hurt me, is that her friends commented and said that they would hold me down and beat me up for it.

She was my only friend. My only friend; I trusted her and thought of her like a sister. And now I am hurt beyond words. How could she say something like that about me…and let others say something so horrible? I did not choose to hurt myself…who would choose to tear the cartilage in their knee? To top it off, I called the assistant manager (the store manager is out of town, so I was not able to talk to him), and he was nasty to me and hung up on me while I was trying to explain the situation.

I do not think I can handle much more of this. Please pray for me. I want to be back in Gettysburg. It is so beautiful there, and for the first time in a while, I was able to forget everything; all the horrible memories of being bullied were gone. And now I am back home, and it seems worse than ever before.

I do not know if you can even give me any advice…but prayers are what I really need. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

God bless.

God’s Spirit is in my heart,
He has called me and set me apart.
This is what I have to do,
what I have to do.

He sent me to give the Good News to the poor,
Tell prisoners that they are prisoners no more,
Tell blind people that they can see,
And set the downtrodden free
And go tell everyone the news that the Kingdom of God has come,
And go tell everyone the news that the Kingdom of God has come.

Just as the Father sent me,
So I’m sending you out to be
My witnesses throughout the world,
The whole of the world.

Don’t worry what you have to say,
Don’t worry because on that day
God’s Spirit will speak in your heart,
Will speak in your heart.

Dear OP,
it sounds like you are working with a very immature group of people. How old are you?
An assistant manager who hung up on you? A “friend” who berates you for being injured?
Losers.
It seems odd that you would go on a vacation 2 weeks after being hired. Usually you have to earn vacation time. It also is odd that they would not give you time to recover from an injury, no matter how it happened. Usually an employer would give you a couple of weeks to recover, and not let you go unless you couldn’t resume your duties at that point.
I would first discuss your situation with the store manager, to see if you can return to work when you recover. You might try wearing a knee brace, I have found them very helpful in supporting an injured knee.
Otherwise, stay away from nasty people who are rude to you. Life is too short.
God bless.

Clearly this job is not for you; a more wonderful job Jesus obviously must have waiting for you (this is what I have always known myself when a job has not come to fruition; I have always been Called upon by Jesus for something else!

The ‘reactions’ of all people around you are ‘irrelevant’. End of story. What is ‘relevant’ and ‘paramount’ is your most Loving relationship with Jesus and Our Lady Mary Mother of Jesus. Period. Nothing else. Not the loss of temporary income due to injury, not the disappointment of your temporary injury and disappointment of the Company and its Staff, not the reactions of any one else.

You are only living up to Jesus and Our Lady Mary Mother of Jesus through Her Most Divine Loving Intercession.

Love and forgive these people “For they know not what they are doing”; Jesus is their Judge and we are all judged.

Move on with your precious Life and pray the Holy Rosary if you can twice daily asking Jesus and Our Heavenly Mother for your Calling and the appropriate work environment.

Love and best wishes
