Need a little help on a question, please

Hey all, Im taking my confirmation and have a question to answer for a quiz, and I have no idea about it…I never went to a Catholic school, so this q is quite hard for me, although I have an idea of the answer…

q. St Mark was one of the Evangelist. What is an Evangelist?
q. Name the other three Evangelists…

Now, I know that St. Mark was the one who wrote the Gospel, so are the other 3 Matthew, Luke and John, or have I got it completely wrong?! Help!

If this is a quiz you’re taking…you shouldn’t be asking 🙂

However, I’ll hope you are allowed to look–open book? Go look up the word Evangelist. That’s what I would tell my catechism kids. If you know who St. Mark is and what he did, now you know what an Evangelist (to evangelize) would be…so, what do you think?

Claire. Are you posting from class? Are you taking the quiz right now? Are you supposed to be doing this? Hmmm?
 
I’ll give you a clue- there is a difference between evangelist and Evangelist.

And the question posed to you is about the latter.
 
thanks for your replies 🙂 It is sort of like a quiz, just a piece of homework we need to do really…No I’m not at the class right now (homework due in this Saturday), but have been stuck on this question for a while…I’ve even Googled to try to find the answer for it, but it just comes up with a list of churches…hence why I’ve had to post on here…

Oh, take home, the best kind 😃 Google searches can do that sometimes, once you have the definition, I think you’ll get it 😉

Yeah, try a couple of 2 word combinations, evangelist and another word, just choose a few likely ones.

LOL, when I was a teacher, my students at the beginning of the year always used to pester me for take-home tests. And I’d often comply, but after the first one they’d never ask me for another one. Wonder why? 😃 😛
 
yes, definitely a take home piece of work 😃 I just want to try and do my best with the confirmation work, so am trying to answer the questions really well 👍 Done most of them, but there are just these few left to do…I shall carry on my research lol, but will come back if I really get stuck again…just cant believe the lack of information on this area…all that shows up in search results are churches and Evangelical organizations, which have nothing to do with it :banghead:
 
Try a Google Search for “The Four Evangelists” and this may help.

Thank you so much…I had a feeling it was those, but just wasn’t sure enough…I shall continue my research and carry on my learning too 👍 😃
