Is catholic.com an official catholic church site like Catholics for obama wouldn’t be and catholicvote.com wold not be. reason is because I want to use the video catholic vote and it would help if this is an official site. well it would help if I showed this E-mail

I just wanted to let you know that catholicvote.com is not an official site of the Catholic Church. They are a project of the Fidelis Center for Law and Policy. The Fidelis Center is a group of Catholic-based political, legal, research and educational organizations. An equally valid Catholic perspective can be found at romancatholicsforobama.com/. To the best of my knowledge, the Church has not officially endorsed either candidate, as you pointed out. All Catholics are free to vote their consciences, according to their own assessments of the candidates’ positions on all of the issues, just as those at Fidelis and Roman Catholics for Obama are doing. Just thought you would want to know. Thanks!!

Odell, as good as it is, the catholic.com site isn’t an official one for the Church. The only official ones would be the sites for the various dioceses - and, of course, for the Holy See.

And, of course, there are consciences and then there are informed consciences.

Anyone who votes for Obama is voting for abortion on demand of helpless children and for an increase in government funding and activism in abortion and for placing more power in newly appointed activist’s judges who will all make it ever more difficult to stop abortion in this country. I can not see how any Catholic wth an informed conscience can vote for Obama and still call themselves Catholic. Paired with false catholic Biden we have an extremely dangerous moral situation in this country if Obama gets in office. In fact I predict that no one will recognize this country in 4 years if Obama wins - since he will institute massive socialism and chase the wealth overseas. If that happens we might as well consider that the country will collapse economically - we are on the edge of collapse right now as it is.

The only reason we have Obama in as a candidate at all is due to a severe leadership crisis in this country.

McCain has his problems too but is the lessor of the evils. At least Sarah Palin embraces pro life positions and seems to be a good Christian and may be able to moderate McCain more on his positions.

James, I agree with everything you’ve said here, but Sarah Palin is a good Protestant, not a Catholic. 🙂

How embarassing - I just assumed she was since she publically embraced most of the Catholic moral positions. I corrected that sentence - thanks.

Not to mention him and his sister lead RCIA and I know some of the things they have tought there that contradicts the church teaching
