OK seriously, I’m not even a big dessert eater, but after reading this I WANT A CHOCOLATE FROSTED CAKE!!!

My feelings exactly about this kind of cake and “crumb coating”. I decorate cakes for fun and the first I ever heard of “crumb coating” was here! I have been decorating cakes for 28 years without doing that and I get plenty of oohs and aahs for my cakes and my now 28 yo daughter has been decorating cakes for about 14 years with the same effect ( - : . It might be because we bake our cakes from scratch so they aren’t as “crumby” as cake mixes or because we live in the desert, I don’t know, just have never had a problem with crumbs in my frostingI’m too tired now to crumb coat anyways, lol… plus, I figure chocolate cake, chocolate frosting… who’ll even be able to SEE the crumbs, lol.
The butterflies on the wall will last a whole lot longer too than any decorations you put on a cake! This is why you go to the store and buy cute little toys to decorate with. I have to post the picture of the last cake my daughter and I did for an event - a baby shower no less! (sorry it’s kind of big, my family is hollering at me to come play a game so no time to make it smallerI put my energy into decorating some butterflies for the wall since I didn’t want Lily eating a bunch of artificial color…those didn’t turn out as well as I’d like because I had a massive headache at the time but I’m sure Lily will love them![]()
Thank you.**Brenda that is such a cute cake and a cute idea!!! Are those real rocks or candy?
Oh next year I am going to come up with something more creative!!! I used to have an artistic side and I really miss it…**
