I’m with shannyk on this one! When I read your post, I thought, “Why is she giving these kids only half an hour to get ready in the morning?” That is a recipe for being rushed.
I get mine up at least an hour before we have to leave, and I strive for closer to an hour and a half. That way we have time for the slow-getter-upper, and also for the one who gets up more quickly, but is a dawdler once she’s up. They have time to eat breakfast, get dressed, even shower, without having to do everything at warp speed. We still have our trials, but MOST mornings are pretty peaceful and smooth.
If every morning is horrible, her refusal to get up might be understandable avoidant behavior.
