Need advice about public school Christmas party

Of course, they don’t call it a Christmas party, it’s called a Winter party. I keep calling it Christmas party because we all know what it’s for. We don’t really celebrate winter here in Iowa!! We get too much ice and sleet to feel like celebrating winter. : )
Anyway, any advice or ideas on treats or party favors that will be acceptable in a public school? My youngest is in 3rd grade, most of the kids in her class are Christian, one boy is of Jewish background. I need to be careful, but would like to acknowledge in some way that we are actually celebrating Jesus’ birth, not the snow on the ground.
 
I was going to suggest cookies, but that would not work here, as sweets and treats have been banned from our schools, probably yours as well. do I hear a chorus of “you’re a mean one, mr. Grinch”
 
We have strict rules too. No flour, dairy products, eggs, sugar, chocolate or peanuts. What’s left? Baked squash?
 
I only really need to be careful about anything with peanut butter in it or any peanut products. I was just thinking about making star shaped cookies. That would convey the message about the star showing the sheperds and kings the way to Jesus in the manger. I wanted to avoid the snowman and reindeer stuff. If I can infuse some subtle Christian message into their public school party, I’ll be happy. Anybody else have any ideas?
 
As a parent, you can bring in Christian items to a party. The teacher still has to call it a Winter party, but you can bring in a creche to display and talk about that day, or napkins with the Holy Family on them. Another idea is to just go with the winter party theme and do snowmen/snowflake crafts and treats. Snowmen are fun to make out of marshmallows with candy decorations and pretzel stick arms. Snowflakes from pipe-cleaners and beads is a fun craft (use the shiny pipe-cleaners and clear pony beads or the faceted ones). Painting an outdoor scene and then decorating with glitter for the snow. Lots of fun ideas.
 
Check with the school, some will not allow home-made items to be brought in. If that is the case, find some pretty cookies at the supermarket, or candy canes?
