Ohhhhhh I see now this woman was a self ordained priestess who decided she was running the show?

Now she is finding out from God that she is wrong.

Oh dear, the sinister side of me wants to see this woman squirm at her new “problem”.

If these women stood during the homily in protest…they can be excommunicated by the bishop. AND the priest can have them removed from the church. Sounds like they should be removed.

I’ve been pondering this a bit. Someone, other than you, needs to bring this to the attention of the Bishop’s Office. Words, letters, etc. of support for your pastor need to be expressed. A grassroots campaign to support him is called for.

cheeseheads are almost always right. I agree this sounds like an enormous problem. Did I read you right? The women stood in protest during a homily? EGADS!

This is an out of control stiuation. THe organist needs to be removed this is simply a fatal situation. It seems to me that your son and his “mohawk” is a side matter. you got some big problems at your parish sister. (oh by the way I secretly want a mohawk).

I do have a question. WHere are all the “traditional minded” Catholics???..nevermind…somthing tells me they left Long ago.

PS Refering to her failure to enter judgement on your case, you do know that you can sue incompetent attorneys for malpractice, in order to recover damages? If things are as bad as you depict, you might want to contact another attorney about that. You can also inquire with your local the bar association about the matter. Sometimes there is a statute of limitations, so don’t delay.
I tried that route… years ago… no lawyer in our county will sue another lawyer in our county… so lawyer #2 referred me to lawyer #3 in another county who thought she should be given a chance to fix it before we sue… she didn’t fix and we didn’t sue… onto lawyer #4…who took a retainer and never did a thing. I don’t trust lawyers at all now.

OP and others here are far nicer people than I am. I would have told the woman during the first conversation, that she is intruding on a matter that involves me and my family, that she has no right to breach our confidentiality, and that if she continues to speak to others about this incident I will have to reluctantly consider legal action.
I was hoping you would post… *thought I was clear…*I told her my family was fine with it and she still went on and on… and at a party for the nuns! I wouldn’t threaten her with a suit because she could do far more damage to me in a suit.

Call your state bar association, and tell them what you’ve told us, if only to report the two lawyers who have taken your money and only caused you grief. Ask them what your options are. They have an interest in not filling the planet with more people who feel the legal profession is out to rip them off, so you might get some direction from them.

Yeah… I think she is one of those too… probably thinks that there should be priestesses… that’s what you get with a 50 something single woman that is a lawyer in her daily life I guess… I really feel sorry for her though and I do pray for her.

The bishop does know about the situation… they approached him about it when the other woman was fired… and I wrote the bishop about how much we appreciated the new pastor… Michelle Arnold was a big help on the protocol. My pastor also knows since I gave him a copy of that letter… and I told him when I got a very nice letter back from my bishop.

I talked to my bosses wife about it today because I was troubled about something related… the very next day after this incident, the DRE (a nun) called me and told me not to bother showing up for RCIA and gave me a reason, but I fear it might be about this incident as well.

On the bright side… dd has a friend that is an organist and wants very badly to play at our parish… dd told Father that and he seemed interested.

in general if a person who is working for the church, as a paid employee, on a stipend, or as a volunteer, and is guilty of wrong-doing, every diocese has a process for reporting the misbehavior. The first report should be made to the pastor and to the person overseeing the offender’s ministry. If no action is taken in a reasonable time, the report should go to the person designated in the diocese, usually the vicar general. This extends to a much wider area than just child abuse, and is called for any time a parishioner or member of the public is victimized in any way. Your diocesan website should have a link on “how to report abuse”.

they sent letters to every parishioner, they visited homes and tried to convince people to sign a petition…
This is an abuse. Parishioners’ registrations are CONFIDENTIAL – and should not be given to anyone except the staff sending out the annual contributions letter for tax purposes.

That these women somehow obtained parishioners’ addresses should be reported. These they visited homes should be reported.

They should be fired for this alone.

As for confessing your resentment, remember that for our venial sins, we can seek our Lord’s forgiveness outside of the confessional – through spiritual and corporal acts of mercy, including prayers and devotions – also, during the penitential prayers during Mass and reception of the Eucharist. However, if you must confess during the Sacrament of Reconciliation, there’s no need to make your pastor uncomfortable by naming names or detailing the situation. The confession is about your sin, not about those who sinned against you.

I wondered about this… but the priest and the bishop are aware of what they did… so I leave that to them. The woman that was fired had access to everybody’s info and address… but then, we did publish a parish “yearbook” in 2000 that had anybody’s address that said it was OK along with their family picture.

I live in a small town I know where everyone lives in my parish.

Also our parish pictoral directory has the names and addresses of everyone that is registered at our parish. I have seen my mother’s pictoral directory from the early 1970s (in fact we used it to find out where someone lived long ago) it had the addresses and phone numbers of the people in our parish. THere are countless ways to get peoples addresses. And in a small town it ususally isn’t needed.

It is a good idea to be careful about threatening lawyers with lawsuits. That is a job for your lawyer! 😃

Seriously, though, I wouldn’t talk lawsuit to that woman if you put a gun to my head. My attorney would do 100% of that communication. A bad lawyer may not win a case against you, but she could make herself into a royal (and costly) pain in the neck. Hornets’ nests are best left alone.
In our neck of the woods, there’d be lawyers ***lining up ***to sue other lawyers.
Have a mass she “performs at” said for her.
OOh. Gasoline on the fire.

BlestOne;4466181:
uh oh I already don’t like her :D…WOw I hope she plays the organ better than she does Civil Law

… . Yes but interesting history.

Goo for you nice work

Oooo that took guts for you to do based on her “history”.
Is this woman the music director or the DRE…Or does she think she is the vicar General?

Haugen and HAAS?
LUCKY YOU!!! Uh OH your parish was on autopilot…not a good thing
This sign alone would make me do backflips in the isle…(of course that is not in the GIRM.

.
This is when you get a tendency to unplug her organ…and pull the fuse on her MIC

:bigyikes:

.

sounds like its time to call the K of C
THis is a serious matter

It is still ugly until organ lady is dealt with

I like him too

The rugby player in me wants to body slam someone when I read this.

Me too see my above comment.

He must not have fired her from EMHC then.

I secretly want a mohawk

Yes.

I will pray for you …and the organ lady
Oh my gosh…the running commentary here has me twitching with laughter!!!

We can’t even pry a phone # from my parish’s staff. 🤷

I know… Isn’t it hysterical!!! Thankfully it lightens up even the most distressing of problems…

DS just decided to redo the mohawk… just when it was growing out so nicely… just in time for the holidays! It is soooo big that when he stands in a doorway his hair hits the door frame!

I think I should petition the pastor to let him lector with it… what do ya’all think???
