I need some concrete advice on how to handle all the situations that life hits me with without falling into total despair/depression. My life is so full of different, very serious and troubling situations. Sometimes it takes its toll on me and I fall into despair. How do I trust God more that He will take care of me?

Your far from being alone in your fear… but fear not.
try not to become Obsessed with your own faults…
just live one day at a time, and make someone somewhere smile…
could you give examples of the things that worry you.

Hi!

One thing you can try is to go to Eucharistic adoration. Spend some time praying in front of our Lord and ask Him for help. I’ve been to Eucharistic adoration a few times when I have been troubled and it really does bring you a sense of peace and lets you know that God is watching over you. 🙂

I had to finally realize that I had no control and that I had to wait and believe that God was going to provide a way in every situation. “How” I did that? I just repeated it to myself until it stuck. I prayed a lot asking God to change my thinking and eventually He did. I still have issues that I worry over, but I know everything is in His hands. Everything.
Much of what I worried over wasn’t even mine to own or worry over. Letting go was necessary.
God bless you and I will pray for you.

Trust in God and do all you can. Deal with each situation with possible solutions. Pray for wisdom and figure out all possible resources you may get. When problems are lessened, stress will be reduced and life will be a little easier. Pray for wisdom to handle problematic life situations.

Our goal in life is not to avoid troubles, but to accept them gratefully and learn from them. This is the process that will bring about personal holiness. It takes practice day in and day out. It helps me to have a brief prayers like “my God and my all” or “Jesus, help me” to say when challenges come my way.

Remember that all virtues grow when we practice them When I make mistakes or do stupid things, this gives me a chance to practice humility. When traffic is bad or I have to wait behind someone in the checkout line, this gives me the chance to practice patience. When I feel depressed or in despair, this gives me an opportunity to give these feelings to Jesus and Mary–who both felt this way and will help you find joy even in the hard times.

Keep praying and God be with you!

Whenever I face a tough situation, I say a brief prayer saying, Lord I need help with this, whatever happens, I leave it in your hands to make the best of it. Then I just follow my instincts and do the best job I can.

It is difficult to be concrete when you perceive the computer. But the faith teaches the Church that God wants our “all”. Concretely, this is heaven and you are not there yet, that by which is why we hope in what we see not, believe in what we do not see.

Ignorance, according to St. Theresa of Avila, a Doctor of the Church, is frequent element in spiritual trials. Hence, concretely you want to do spiritual reading of pure materials. The Bible, the Church Fathers, the Catechism, the Summa Theologica, books recommended by those who love the universal communion, the writings of the saints and there way, which is a compendium to the way of Christ.

St. Thomas Aquinas, a Doctor of the Church, said, “Happiness is the knowledge of God”. Knowledge of God is wisdom, practically by the judgment of divine things which we find in the pure materials, pure for they exemplify the divine and not the author, with the exception of the bible. This judgment of divine things always properly has its end in love, which is self-giving outside of the comfort zone.

In what context do we give? We need the gift of self-knowledge. The Gift of Knowledge, in part, one of the seven-fold gifts of the Holy Spirit, perfects the intellect to judge worldly things - to see there true worth as they pertain to the last end which is God. The Gift of Knowledge recognizes that the world is strange in comparison to lasting happiness. And to delight in what the world holds as delightful is to be strange and sorrowful - if God gives the light to see the distance as a result of the delight. Guilt is found with knowledge. And the Gift of Counsel judges our own actions, and in the case of guilt, it is deal with in frequent confession of sins to a priest by the way of the Lord in communion with his Church as instructed by the Papal magisterium.

The effect of mental prayer is devotion to God from our heart, that by which is his knowledge of himself as gift to us. This is not solely a individual application, it is a way that consists in communion with his Church led by the bishops in union with the Pope. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, thereby we are led to such communion by devotion - which is caused by mental prayer. (See “The Ways of Mental Prayer” by Dom Vitalis Lehodey - lauded by Pope Pius X)

Mental prayer is the link on how we judge the world vis-à-vis with the light of who we are.

I would suggest that you obtain a picture of Jesus or Mary and put them on the mantel or one of the tables. Then you will be reminded of them often thruout the day as you gaze about your room. This is a great way to start prayer with them. Have little talks with them in your soul. They will comfort you.

Get a picture that you favor, and it could even be a holy card.

May God bless and keep you. May God’s face shine on you. May God be kind to you and give you peace.
