For me personally, I desire all Christians to come to the joy of the sacraments, especially the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist.

Infusion with sanctifying grace through the sacraments is what I desire for my non-Catholic brothers and sisters and why I desire them to come to the Holy Catholic Church.

We are also commanded to be baptized for the remission of sins.
We are also commanded to confess our sins.
We are also commanded to receive the body and blood of Christ.
We are also commanded to obey the elders and teachers of the law.
The elders are also commanded to be careful who they lay hands on [for ordination].
We are also commanded to oppose those that teach false doctrine.
I could go on, but won’t. All of these are rooted in scripture.
Taking away and adding to God’s word includes changing the meaning.

If one does not conform to these they are not in full communion with Christ’s Church and therefore are not in full communion with God’s people, found in the Catholic Church, a 2000 year old institution that also goes by the name of Church of Christ.
Thanks for your response.

I didn’t say that I agree with their extra books or their way’s of teaching. I disagree that one need’s a mormon bible in order to escape hell. Jesus makes this very clear.

Matthew 6:33
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

John 14:26
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance , whatsoever I have said unto you.

1 John 2:27
But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

We are however commanded to love God and one another and those 2 commands fulfill all commands. The Holy Ghost(Comforter) teaches all that we need.

Romans 13:10
Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

I’m not sure where to put this question but maybe you can help. On several posts on CAF I see the Catholic’s saying that Protestant’s are their brother’s and sister’s in Christ. Which I completely agree. But, why do they want Protestant’s to convert to Catholicism if were all the same?
HELP please:confused:

[after going back to read what you said again, I think I misunderstood you. But, I’ve included my thoughts below as a way for those interested to see the complexity of scripture. Proof texing is so often performed to prove one’s position, yet it is not the legitimate method for showing truth, but it can help. The entire Word of God must be included, not just a hand full of scriptures.]

The Deposit of Faith is not merely placed upon men, but passed down through the "holy ones’, which if you do your research would included ordained men over the church. I’ve see so many misuses of scripture, even among my own previous faith members in the churches of Christ (Protestant) and even Catholics.

Something I learned a long time ago and found reference to it in scripture is to always seek the truth. ‘he who ceases to seek truth will fall blinded’ My saying, paraphrasing the one I’ve heard so many times. So I’ve set my goal to always seek truth. I do not base my faith beliefs on the beliefs of other men, but on God. I’ve found the truth contained only within the ancient teachings, Catholic/Orthodox. Jesus himself says that he who does not eat his flesh and drink his blood shall not have life in within. On this, I’m convinced that he meant actual body and blood that he showed his disciples on the last supper. If you study actual Jewish tradition, and how the passover is practiced along with the meaning from a Jewish source, it should become clear to anyone that sees the connection what is being done/performed. Another thread for another time.

Everything I’ve quoted is true. Every scripture we all quote is true. But all scripture must be taken within the context within it is written. Many Christians meaningfully say things without realizing that the true meaning of scripture includes what I’ve heard call “both | and” statements. It is by faith, it is by grace, it is by works. But when you take it all in as inclusive, and not exclusive, then you begin to understand the truth in a much clearer light. I could write books on what I’ve uncovered just in the scriptures that correlate entirely to Catholic teaching, which is distributed among other Protestant faiths as well. But I see clear cut picking and choosing among Protestants as well as Catholics [aka cafeteria Catholics]. Jesus clearly said to do as they teach, not as they do. That means to follow the teachings, which was being taught correctly, but not practiced faithfully by the Pharisees nor the teachers of the law. That’s why Jesus called them hypocrites. That’s the same reason there have been Popes, bishops and priests in the history of the Church that were hypocrites.
