I went to a Low EF Mass recently, and in the announcements made it was mentioned there will be a Solemn High Mass in a few months to honor a significant anniversary of EF Masses being held there. I hope to be able to attend it.

What will be different from Low Masses to this one in terms of length, things said/done etc?

Longer mass, obligatory use of incense, more altar boys, generally just a more glorified version of the low mass. Also there will be Asperges Me along with the obligatory asperges. The priest will process in a cope to do that, and will then vest in his chasuble and maniple after he approaches the altar.

Also to add to the previous poster, more singing and Gregorian chant.

Hello,

also you could visit the ICRSS web site –

– and view two Solemn High Masses online. 🙂

Jesus, God and man,
imprisoned by love in Thy most holy Sacrament,
have mercy upon us.
– Blessed John Henry Newman, December 22, 1851

Tú y yo sabemos por la fe que oculto en las especies sacramentales está Cristo,
ese Cristo con su Cuerpo, con su Sangre, con su Alma, y con su Divinidad,
prisonero de amor.
