Hi all. I am trying to help a fellow scrupulous person understand the unforgivable sin of the Holy Spirit. I know all sins can be forgiven, and the the blasphemy is rejecting salvation/forgiveness through the Holy Spirit…
This is what I wrote to them, and I am asking if I explained it right. I tried as best as I could to explain it, I can’t leave someone without helping them. I have been in their shoes, so I did my best and used some quotes from answers from apologists from CAF. Please tell me if I explained it right…it gives me anxiety to think I say something wrong by trying to help someone. Please and God Bless.
They told me they read this and it gave them some bad thoughts after reading this:

HERE IS WHAT I WROTE:
"Hi (regarding to the post you linked) The person asked if there is a sin that cannot be forgiven, the answer is that all sins CAN be forgiven.
What they are talking about is " a sin committed by one who knowingly and willingly rejects the grace of conversion in this life." That means someone who knowingly and willingly refuses to accept forgiveness. It’s not that the person can’t be forgiven, it’s because they do not want to be forgiven. That type of person wants to keep going in their evil and sinning and rejecting redemption even at their final moments.
" it consists rather in the refusal to accept the salvation which God offers to man through the Holy Spirit, working through the power of the Cross."
It basically means that a person does not want to be forgiven for anything, they are not sorry. God is willing to forgive them but they don’t want to be forgiven. ‘Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is essentially the willful rejection of God’s grace and forgiveness’. There are no limits to the mercy of God, but anyone who deliberately refuses to accept his mercy by repenting, rejects the forgiveness of his sins and the salvation offered by the Holy Spirit.
They don’t want to be forgiven, they are not sorry for the wrong they did, they just don’t care if they are doing wrong. So yes, rejecting the salvation of the Holy Spirit.
You obviously are not like that!

Now, having intrusive thoughts saying bad things, or bad thoughts, are not yours. I used to get them a lot, and now I rarely do. You need to be under spiritual guidance by a Priest. These thoughts are not yours. I think what makes you feel bad is the fact that you feel guilty and that causes anxiety. Remember you are NOT guilty of those thoughts, so try and let it go. Just say ‘they are not mine, I would not think that in my right mind…Jesus, be with me.’
Here is a podcast of Catholic Answers Live, dealing with Scrupulosity. I recommend you listen to it, and hopefully it will help you. It helped me. It’s with Fr. Paul Keller talking about people like us who have to go through this.

What helped me get over this fear was a lot of prayer, the ST. Michael Prayer and ask the Blessed Mother to keep you under her mantle. Keep holy water in your house, before bed put some on your forehead. Loved praying the Divine Mercy chaplet too. What I believe also helped me was getting a St. Benedict medal and wearing it around my neck and get it blessed. It has a prayer against evil on it, for God to protect you. Most importantly remember that Jesus Christ is with you, and that God knows your heart. He knows you love him and what you are going through.
I really hope this helped you. I am not an expert, I am just a 19 year old teenager who went through the same thing. I will remember you in my prayers. And even though you have met with priests face to face, I would encourage you get a spiritual guide. Usually just by calling your Parish, asking to set up and appointment with a priest. (A priest offered to be my spiritual guide during confession, so I just called my church office and asked to set up an appointment with him)
