Yeah, I know where you are coming from. 😦

Jim, CAF has a new social groups feature.
forums.catholic-questions.org/group.php

Would it be worth trying to create a social group, so that the other CAF members who are also shouldering your cross can get together and talk? I know it is possible to make membership in a social group available only by invitation, if you wanted to restrict membership to only those in your situation (which would allow private discussions.)
I’ll give it a try. Thanks.

This almost makes me feel as though my friend is actually a little angel sent to test me and if I fail the test I end up committing and repeating the whole sinful saga of Sodom. I don’t want all this. I pray to return to some normalcy that I had in childhood. Yet has that ever really been there?
Don’t get discouraged! Keep persevering. I too get discouraged with my failures in handling the crosses I bear in my life. But I know in my mind that I have to keep trudging along even if my heart isn’t into it.

I feel God is allowing you to be taught something about yourself and your walk in Him. This has been helpful to me, I’ve clipped it onto my desktop for inspiration and I think it could help you too.

"If you have recently failed a test, don’t be discouraged. After all, today’s success was yesterday’s failure. Today’s Christ-like characteristic was yesterday’s fault. God allowed you to go through that test (knowing that you would fail) because there is something that He is trying to teach and change in you. There is something that He is trying to bring to your attention - something that He will help you with if you’ll only reach out to Him.

When we find ourselves going through a difficult test, we shouldn’t look up to Heaven and ask, “Why?” Instead, we should ask, “What? What is it, Father, that you are trying to change or produce in me?”

Perspective is everything. If we learn to look at life’s tests as instruments in the hands of a loving God, instead of weapons in the hands of Satan, this will determine whether or not we yield or resist, which in turn will determine whether we succeed or fail.

May God, in his grace and goodness, grant all of us a teachable spirit when going through the difficult tests of life. May he do this, that Christ might be glorified in us, and we in Him."

Bless you in this difficult time!
