This almost makes me feel as though my friend is actually a little angel sent to test me and if I fail the test I end up committing and repeating the whole sinful saga of Sodom. I donât want all this. I pray to return to some normalcy that I had in childhood. Yet has that ever really been there?
Donât get discouraged! Keep persevering. I too get discouraged with my failures in handling the crosses I bear in my life. But I know in my mind that I have to keep trudging along even if my heart isnât into it.
I feel God is allowing you to be taught something about yourself and your walk in Him. This has been helpful to me, Iâve clipped it onto my desktop for inspiration and I think it could help you too.
"If you have recently failed a test, donât be discouraged. After all, todayâs success was yesterdayâs failure. Todayâs Christ-like characteristic was yesterdayâs fault. God allowed you to go through that test (knowing that you would fail) because there is something that He is trying to teach and change in you. There is something that He is trying to bring to your attention - something that He will help you with if youâll only reach out to Him.
When we find ourselves going through a difficult test, we shouldnât look up to Heaven and ask, âWhy?â Instead, we should ask, âWhat? What is it, Father, that you are trying to change or produce in me?â
Perspective is everything. If we learn to look at lifeâs tests as instruments in the hands of a loving God, instead of weapons in the hands of Satan, this will determine whether or not we yield or resist, which in turn will determine whether we succeed or fail.
May God, in his grace and goodness, grant all of us a teachable spirit when going through the difficult tests of life. May he do this, that Christ might be glorified in us, and we in Him."
Bless you in this difficult time!
