I’m very concerned for you, regarding this abuse. You are in unbearable situation. If your husband forces you not to go to Mass the sin is on his soul not yours. I can only pray for him, you, and for your children. I ask God to protect your children from patterning themselves on your husband’s autocratic and manipulative behaviour.
God’s word in Exodus 20
- "I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery;
“Do not have any other gods before me.”
3)“Remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy.”
“Other gods” can be people in our lives, if we put them before God, or if they put themselves before God.
Jesus Christ, God, Son of the living God, said
‘“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.” T**his is the greatest and first commandment. **
And a second is like it: “You shall love your neighbour as yourself.” On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets." [Matthew 22:34-40]
The ten Commandments
I am the Lord thy God, thou shalt not have any other gods besides me
Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain
Remember to keep holy the sabbath day ;
Honour thy father and mother
Thou shalt not kill.
Thou shalt not commit adultery.
Thou shalt not steal.
Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.
Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s wife.
Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s (goods)
[Deuteronomy 5:6-21 ]
Nothing in the ten commandments tells us to put family before God, but there is a command to place God above all. The remaining commandments do tell us to respect others’ rights and dignity
