Im pretty sure that you’re not that well informed on the seriousness people are putting behind the decriminalization and/or legalization due to statements like that. If you’re ever pulled over while high on marijuana it is my hopes that you lose your license and pay all of the fines that normally proceed a DUI case. Driving high is just as serious and dangerous as drinking while drunk. Thanks a lot!!

oops, typo
“Driving high is just as serious and dangerous as** drinking **while drunk. Thanks a lot!!”

meant to say “driving while drunk”

also to note: the person using the screen name “Seijin”***(trial member with 3 post…all in this thread) ***could very well just be trolling or else someone trying purposely to derail thread in the name of anti-pot for dramatic purpose. Not hard to figure that out.

An excellent point–one does not need to be in a bad car crash to observe the consequences of it.In one sense a drug user is really a potential wreck!
Probably you and ever one you know is a “drug user,” no?

Yes, well you’d be thinking that because the “studies” told you that. If anything you drive more carefully. Unless you smoke to much, but thats not the case. I am risking no one but myself getting a ticket. Driving drunk is much different and a thousand times more dangerous.

Far out JPK1313:eek:

I am sorry to say that your above post does not state Catholic Teachings-- your post reflects a very disorded way of thinking.I seriously think that you ought to stay away from dope. The question I ask you is ----what is so horrible either in your past or even present life that you need to use drugs at all?

Perhaps a priest or seeking drug abuse therapy clinic would be helpful for you.I will not even attempt to show where you are incorrect in your posting,as I would be only “talking” to the drugs and not to you.

You are one person that needs prayers, may St.Maximilian Kolbe help you to stop using drugs period.God Bless.
To say that I’m incorrect then say I’m not going to tell you where you are incorrect doest nothing to bring about knowledge or understanding and are doing a me a wrong.
And I do not take drugs becuse I’m trying to “escape” pain or fill a void in my soul (which is what the eucharist does) but simply becuse I enjoy it the same way I’ll have a beer everyother month becuse I enjoy it. I have disscused this with many priests and one bishop and they all told me the same thing “its not about use but abuse make your own informed choices.” Nor have any of them told me my ideas are wrong. So if you know something priest or bishops don’t please share.

I haven’t read all the posts, so this may have been posted before.

But it’s not well known, I don’t think.

Many drugs brought into the U.S. through Mexico are cursed by a Satanic priest. I would assume that this especially applies to marijuana.

Many young people who get into this addiction lose their faith in God and walk away. Certainly, there must be a link, don’t you think?

-“I think people need to be educated to the
fact that marijuana is not a drug. Marijuana is an herb and a flower.
God put it here. If He put it here and He wants it to grow, what gives
the government the right to say that God is wrong?”

Are you kidding? I really hope your kidding. Although I agree with almost no one whos replied to me so far, God forbid, I have to say thats the most uneducated thing I’ve seen, and that is saying alot in this sea of propaganda and uneducated people.

No, this was from a former cocaine addict who was very well connected in the business. I trust this man’s opinion. He almost died from his addiction.

It’s no joke.

Ok. At first I thought this place was really religious, which I can respect being a christian. But Satanic priest cursing Marijuana? That is…just…I can’t even fathom the amount ignorance it takes for someone to believe that. THIS is Propaganda. Want to know where that kind of fact came from? People like Harry J Anslinger:
“There are 100,000 total marijuana smokers in the US, and most are Negroes, Hispanics, Filipinos, and entertainers. Their Satanic music, jazz, and swing, result from marijuana use. This marijuana causes white women to seek sexual relations with Negroes, entertainers, and any others.”
“…the primary reason to outlaw marijuana is its effect on the degenerate races.”
“Marijuana is an addictive drug which produces in its users insanity, criminality, and death.”
“Reefer makes darkies think they’re as good as white men.”
“Marihuana leads to pacifism and communist brainwashing”
“You smoke a joint and you’re likely to kill your brother.”
“Marijuana is the most violence-causing drug in the history of mankind.”

I suggest that you talk to a wise and holy priest because your last post to which I refered to is totally insane, sorry .

I can’t say I condone all he does, but I understand where he is coming from. It isn’t wrong if it isn’t abused. See what I just did there? That’s called being open minded, receptive. Not biased as this place seems to be. Like with Marijuana, for instance, you are spitting all these **** facts that you believe to be true even though you can’t possibly know. That’s like me giving you a box with something in it and you saying “Yeah I totally know what’s in the box” No, you don’t.

Edit: really? “c.r.a.p” was censored. I rest my case. I’m actually surprised I’m even allowed to say Marijuana.

Ascribing a label upon strangers makes it easier to look down upon them and judge them.

.
I’m not ascribing any labels. I was just pointing out to the person who talked about “drug users” that pretty much everyone uses drugs in some form or another and for various purposes. “Drugs are bad” declarations are always off point. It is like saying that technology is bad.

You have not said what is insane. What about it is insane? Do you even know? All you have done is insult me tell me I’m wrong and not explained where or what is wrong. You have done NOTHING to improve the intellectual or moral development of a fellow Christian. Shame on you, you sophist. Try developing an argument as to why someone is wrong (if you even have the brains to do so). To say something is wrong and then walk away shows you have a limited understanding and should stay out of the argument becuse you are contributing nothing. Like come on are you really this ignorant? I asked what is wrong with my argument and all you did was insult me and not give a reasoned responce. What part of my argument is wrong? where do you disagree or agree with me? Did you even read it? Or is it that I’m right and destroyed the holier than thou bubble you’ve been living in and just can’t take it? If I’m wrong say where I am or shut up until you can produce an argument in which the truth will come to light.

And I have presented my argument to many priests and a bishop and they never said I’m wrong or insane so I am going to trust their judgment rather that some ignorant sophist who can’t even say what about it is wrong.

Thanks for clarifying, Leela. I got your excellent point and wasn’t referring to you as an a ascriber of labels. Sorry for the confusion.

If you are taking a moral stand against alcohol, you will find it difficult, neigh impossible, to get the backing of the church. The church has maintained since its foundation by Christ himself that alcohol in moderation is acceptable. Christ himself drank wine, made wine for others to drink, and used alcohol in the sacrament of the Eucharist. You can’t abolish alcohol and maintain the sacraments. You will also find several references to the good of alcohol, and it’s use. Proverbs 31:6, for example:

The truth is, when you are talking about abolishing alcohol, you are taking a step beyond that of the church. It would be like trying to ban sugar, meat, or marital sex (part of a sacrament!) because you find objections to it.

I wish you luck in leading others to the Lord, but I cannot help you with what you seek in this case as I feel it violates those things which the church and scripture has called good and uses in its sacraments.
When you drink the sacramental wine at Mass…what is the teachings of the Church? what is explained for that moment? That it is the Blood of Christ and not wine. Sugar and meat are not ceremonial in any form and there are several humans who have changed their lives to go without both. I understand the point you are trying to make, but somethings did not need to be referenced together I don’t think.

furthermore I am not speaking about banning alcohol, but keeping marijuana banned. it is not used in any Sacrament, nor useful to any doctor nor any person who is not sick. I use reference to alcohol at some points because it has become a defense to the people who want marijuana illegal. I merely have expressed my view (that I must never drink an ill drink nor any one I care about under the horrible pressure built around it from our society). Someone else brought up the idea to ban liqueur, not I. They were questioning my thought by adding in a substance that is reportedly ‘more harmful’ because if you allow liqueur and tobacco, then why not marijuana. I try to explain that marijuana is not less harmful simply because the physical side effects are different. there are still great mental harm as well as much of it being still unknown as there has not been the same amount of studies. It is also more addicting than people think. Alcohol has zero chemical addiction unlike tobacco & other nicotine products, however like marijuana it too is underestimated and highly addictive. you don’t need some chemical reactant in order to be addicted to something. alcohol once went through a similar stage in our history as many believed it to be non addicting. even now many would claim it to be non addictive even though their whole crave is shown every day or every weekend (you can be an alcoholic and still have it every other day or week. eventually it will progress either way though). It is similar with marijuana, you think it’s not addicting and you have complete control over it, however you don’t. Maybe if you use it just three times you could say you control it, but then what would be the point? might as well not use it at all. There are countless other addicting substances or foods and chemicals, true. And the Church is against every form of addiction, after all that’s what gluttony is = gluttony is addiction.

the whole purpose behind ‘legalizing marijuana’ is to use it in every day life. That means beyond medical reasons. If you look at the majority of users, most do not have any medical problems. There is actually only one chemical in cannabis that would be used in medical reasons, and that (like aspirin) could be abstracted from the plant and used as a pill or another form to reduce physical/mental effects.

Shut down the arterial-clogging restauranteurs of gluttony!

.
just because you own a chair or dine at a restaurant does not mean you are lost in gluttony…when you are lost in addiction however, that is another thing. please leave sarcasm out of this thread

That’s really the only part I care to quote cause the rest is just drivel. I’ve given you data and real accounts of happenings and all you’ve produced is your own false opinion. I mean, I would expect someone trying to fight against it would at least know one fact. To prove my point, your quote. Only one chemical? That’s grossly inaccurate. All the chemicals work together to produce a healthy medium. Some of them, alone, would make the situation worse. Please educate yourself.
