Need help dealing w/ multiple stressors

My DH is experiencing an exacerbation of his depression, not wanting to “be here” any more, praying to die in his sleep so as to not have to face another day. He is currently refusing to go to therapy. I can only do so much to help him.

We are facing the possibility of foreclosure on our home; DH is unable to work due to his depression, however I work full-time and make fairly decent money. DH has mismanaged our finances, to some degree, making bad decisions, and is now relying on scratch tickets to “save us”.

I am at my wit’s end, and stressed beyond words. I pray daily for the grace to keep going, but I feel so defeated. Our 2 teen-age children are feeling the pressure as well.

Please pray for us…

I do understand. My husband’s depression ended his working life years ago. He never recovered, with constant pain of arthritis added to the mix during the last few years. We did lose our home.
I pray for a better outcome for you, but I do thank God you have full-time work.
My prayers for your children, you, and your husband.

Lord I ask You to help this family in all their needs.
And please guide this husband to find responsible balance in his life, in his choices, including seeking appropriate help for his escapism and depression, and to accept his responsibilities to his family and himself.
He has acted unwisely in his financial choices; it happens; please help him to accept that with a healthy realism, and to find a wholesome way to move on and to recover what he can for the future of his family and himself.

Lord please give comfort, peace and hope to rsrn06 and her husband and children, and the strength to wisely and wholesomely handle the pressures in their lives .
