Need help fast....by this afternoon!

I know I read in one of the church documents that the Pope or US Bishops have stated that at bilingual masses, Latin should be used for the mass parts. I don’t know WHERE I read it.

I need to take a copy of it to a suddenly called meeting this afternoon about the planning of Holy Week. Apparently there is a conflict about other issues between 2 other choirs that I have nothing to do with

There is an opportunity to derail the plans of having mixed English and Spanish mass parts, along with alternating languages for readings during the Holy Week masses…

This is from the GIRM #41 “Since faithful from different countries come together ever more frequently, it is fitting that they know how to sing together at least some parts of the Ordinary of the Mass in Latin, especially the Creed and the Lord’s Prayer, set to the simpler melodies.”

Note, though, that this is not a requirement, as such, because it says “it is fitting.”

This is not to say that English and Spanish (or other languages) can both be used in a given Liturgy, depending on the make-up and needs of the parish.
