If they marry outside the Church, yes their marriage would lack canonical form (the requirement to be married in a Catholic Chuch with a priest/deacon and two witnesses) and therefore would not be valid.Now, if a Baptised but non-practicing Catholic marries another Baptised but non-practicing Catholic OUTSIDE the Church, THAT is automatically invalid. Correct?
But, be careful with the term “automatic” because even a Catholic who lacks form must submit their paperwork to the diocese to be declared free to marry in the Church.
