Quite a while ago i think it was Karl Keating was explaining to a non catholic about how the Eucharist is really the body and blood of Jesus and that it was not symbolic, now how he did this was to use a picture of the mans wife and pretended to rip it throw it to the floor and stamp on it, then he asked the man had he abused his wife by doing this and the man said no because it was not his really his wife but only a symbol of her and so karl continued to explain…now i really really need to find this as i was trying to explain it to my sister (who left the Church over 20yrs ago and is now born again) and after i had finished she said that it proved her point that it is only symbolic, i obviously made a really bad job of it (im useless) so i would be soooo grateful if someone out there could help me out as i have just spent the last 3 days online trying to find it typing in every word in every way but to no avail it is really frustrating me as i had only read it again not long ago but don’t remember were i read it. I could really kick myself for not keeping a copy of it at the time.
Thanks Pia

I’m not sure what searches you’ve done, but my first thought would be to go to the search pull-down menu at the top of the page, and do an advanced search. Then you can type in a key word, like “Eucharist,” and an author, like Karl Keating, and check “Show results as posts.” That search returns only 14 hits, so if it is indeed a post on this board that Karl wrote, it should be one of them.

It’s also possible that it’s something else Karl wrote, which wasn’t in a forum thread. In that case I would do an advanced Google search. You can do that from Google’s site, but it’s already set up under the same pull-down search menu at the top of the page.

The last possibility is that it was in a forum, but has been deleted. The staff periodically deletes not just certain threads, but even entire forums. Hopefully this was not the case, but if so and you ask nicely, they may be able to track it down for you in the Catholic Answers Secret Archives.😉

Good luck!

This may not be what you are looking for (it was not posted by Karl Keating), but I was able to find it doing a search on some key words in your post. The relevant post in the thread is post #7, about 3/4 of the way down the post, beginning after “RD.”

Thank-you Swizzlestick, yes i have found what i was looking for. through the links you provided, it turns out it is in Catholic Scripture and that is were i read it a few weeks ago and i also have this site on my toolbar dumb or what:rolleyes:. Now when my sister and i will be talking about the Eucharist again is another story as we had a massive row over the Catholic Church and things were said on both sides, but we have not let this damage our relationship so i am going to wait awhile before bring up the subject again.Years ago she was a osas and now she no longer believes this and as for the Eucharist, again once she was adamant that it was only symbolic but now she tells me she is not so sure and is still working this one out so i really wanted to get the explaination of the Eucharist to the protestant right and this time talk to her face to face rather than like last time which was over the phone which was not a good idea, but you live and learn anyway Once again many many thanks for your help

You are most welcome, Pia! I hope your discussion with your sister goes well and that she understnads that love is what motivates you. Anyway, I hope it is a good discussion with positive outcomes for both of you.

May God bless you too!
