Need help locating a parish

Hi -

I am a long time protestant who is in the process of reconciling to Roman Catholic. One of the things I really like in the Protestant church is that we have weekly bible studies where we study what the Bible says for encouragement and guidance. I want to find a parish that has something like this. Plus it would be great to find a charismatic parish.

I live near Milwaukee, WI. How would I go about locating what I am looking for?

I would suggest going to the diocese’s website and look at the parishes and then go the church’s websites from there. The parish’s websites should list things like if they have bible studies etc. If you can find a parish that has Jeff Cavins great adventure bible study. greatadventureonline.com/locator

Charismatic parishes are not as available as one might think. Many parishes have an occasional charismatic Mass but the numbers that have regular ones are not as plentiful. The entire movement isn’t growing as much as it’s leaders had hoped and interest in it has lessened. That being said, every diocese and archdiocese has a website that will or usually includes a list of parishes that offer those sort of Masses. Bible study is offered at most Parishes that I know of and is a very common thing these days…

what is your opinion for the meaning of ‘charismatic’? most Parishes have some form of Bible study, however if there is not one present, why should you stop there? take action and create one. Most mistakes people make is thinking just because they do not see something means it will not be. Worst yet, when they see space that should be filled they do not fill it (or help int the filling(. Even if you come across a Parish that does not currently have a Bible study group, make one.
