First i’m wanting know when I am confessing I never say the number of times i have commited a sin no matter what it is. i always say something like through out my life or since my last confession i have commit such and such. Latly it has been on my mind a little and i really dont know what to do. sometimes the sin has been commited so many times that the number is prob to great.

Also are sins towards parents like small arguments or telling them wrongs or habits and to tell them to stop because its annoying me allthe time consided only vinal all would it be under grave. i’m 25yo

On the number of times you have committed the sin, your Priest will tell you if he thinks it’s relevant. That you are thinking of it on your own leads me to suggest the following.

Obviously you have a behavior in you life that is at least habitual, if not compulsive. I say this because of your not being able to keep count. You could accept this as the leading of the Holy Spirit, to make you begin to reflect on the need for changing your behavior and the underlying reasons that give rise to that behavior. Don’t be afraid of the work involved.

About your parents. It sounds like you still live with them. At age 25, most people are establishing their own apartments and homes. Sounds like growing pains to me. Their habits are their habits, and you live in their home. That’s a hospitality issue. They are also your parents, and are entitled to your respect and honor. That’s a moral issue. Do you have plans for independent living?

yea but is it a grave sin can i still take holy comunion

since i can not get any answers from here i am just going to say the contrition prayer before communion and just go.

the thing is we might have small argument or say things but we still talk to each other like nmothing has happened. i should start controling myself and not give in the anger.

i hope taking comunion will be ok.

We’re taught that we may not receive Holy Communion while in a state of mortal sin. What’s the nature of this sin, if that isn’t too private?

I don’t see how having small arguments with your parents is a sin at all (mortal OR venial) if it’s just simple bickering back and forth, especially since you’re 25 years old. What do you guys argue about (if you don’t mind me asking)?

I agree, Lorrie 🙂 . I don’t think arguing is sinful, unless you use harsh words toward each other.

its mostly me saying mean things to him. just sometimes some things he does even if it is not to me annoyies me a littie and i end up saying why do you do these things at your age. it could be as he walks past my room he will look in always or i dont want to go near him as he is talking to someone becuase he makes me feel embarrest.

so if i say mean things or be judgmental towards parents is that considered grave. anyway i most likely going to go to confession this week. its just i go all the time and i want to start going once a month but something always happened and i end up going every one or two weeks.

I don’t know if that is a grave matter or not, but it seems like you feel really bad about it. So, maybe , even though he can annoy you, just think about God and try not to say anything mean or judgmental. Sometimes that helps me, if I want to say something rude to someone I usually think “would God want me to respond that way”? Not saying I don’t ever say anything rude, because i do! But, i try not to most of the time. It also doesn’t make anything better by saying mean things. It’s good to go to confession, but when you go , try not to continue that sin. I don’t think you can just keep saying mean things and than go to confession,… you have to be sincerely sorry and try not to do it again.
