Hi everyone, I need help with the name of a town and river, where, during the French Revolution, lots of clerics and religous were killed and thrown in a river in France. I remember reading of this event, that it is recorded that there were so many killings that the water looked as if it was blood.

Sounds like the Noyades drownings, although I don’t know if that was just clergy members.

As tjm190 says, it does sound like the noyades killings in which case the river is the Loire. But the noyades victims weren’t all clergy and nuns and for the most part the noyades were, as the name indicates, drowned.
