Need help with debunking Protestant interpretation of 2 Thessalonians 2:15

If sola scriptura is the foundational way of embracing our faith, then what was God thinking, launching Christianity some 1500 years before the invention of the printing press? Because sola scriptura would have been functionally impossible before the printing press.
