I don’t know how to start this, but oh well here I go, I am having a real faith crisis I am unable to really pray, my mind wonders, I am very confused with all the craziness in the world ! We have a president that is immoral, uncaring, and most of all evil, but yet I have not herd any condemnation of him from my church it is like turning a blind eye at the devil…what he says and what he is doing to this country, divide has never been greater in the country, money and greed seems to fit top bill, family and friends are full of push and pull and just right down hatred, this includes me, it seems to consume my every thought… How can loving people believe what this man and 3/4 of the republican party is doing, taking food programs away from the poor, trying to get rid of Social security, medicare, Medicaid, turning back people fleeing south America, and yet I see nothing or hear nothing from my Church… people getting murdered in a place of worship because they have been radicalized by the President, and his hate fill bile… I am sorry it is hard for me to understand how this madness can give me faith in my church !

CAF tend to be more Trump loving than I believe our faith upholds. I agree that our president is absolutely horrific. He lies without end and last I checked, that is a violation of the 10 Commandments. I think people are fooled by his grandiose posturing and airs of authority.

In my diocese, the bishops have made statements that support immigrants, support Pope Francis’ stance on the death penalty, and advocate for the needy. Our faith is above the politics. Keep the faith, there are others of us out there.

The Church is not going to comment, nor should they, about a government leader unless and until it reaches a truly morally reprehensible level that is beyond the control of the people being governed. Even though some feel we’re skating along that line, we’re not there.

Instead, the Church focuses on issues and speaks/teaches ALL about those. In that respect, she has done so, and on many occasions; it’s just that those in charge and those responsible for reporting don’t find that message as entertaining or agenda-serving. Nonetheless, it has been happening.

Some clerics speak out, even though I’m in the U.K. I have seen that happening.
In some ways it’s difficult for the Church to speak out as it would appear that there is a lot of support for Trump from the people in the pews.
A more cynical view may take it that the Church in the US remains silent as it doesn’t want to upset the administration and it’s putting its own interests first.

What are you all reading that gives you this impression of Pres. Trump?!

He has done so much for the unborn–the first truly pro-life Pres. by ACTIONS as well as words that we have had in my lifetime (I’m 61).

He has gotten our U.S. economy up-and-running–yes, food programs to the poor are being cut back, because many of the poor have finally gotten JOBS and are able to pay for their own food and have a sense of accomplishment! For the first time in DECADES, our city’s factories are opening again, and small businesses are starting up, including small businesses by women and minorities! It’s so wonderful!

And people who finally have jobs are seeking out and paying for health care! We are so busy at my hospital!

Our President has demanded and received the respect of the world again, instead of apologizing.

No American President has ever gotten near the monstrous dictator of North Korea, but our President has actually MET with him in person–and come out alive. The dictator may have all kinds of evil secret plans, but at this point, I thinks he realizes that if he carries any of those plans out, his country will be gone from the face of the earth–Trump does what he says he will do. I think the dictator sees the good of cooperating with South Korea because they will also be able to reap the tourism and business bonanza that their Southern neighbor has been enjoying for years. If this happens, the “openness” will lead to freedom from persecution for the oppressed North Korean people.

And yes, our President is forcing Congress to work together to pass sensible immigration laws that have been needed for decades! We have every right to protect our borders and to say who can come in and who can’t. This isn’t evil. It’s common sense. Do YOU open your front door and invite into your house EVERYONE who knocks on your door (e.g., the drug addict that knocked on OUR door late this past Saturday night and asked us for money?–we did NOT let her in, and I do NOT feel guilty about our actions!).

I heartily recommend listening and reading a more balanced collection of political information sources–my husband does this. He listens to NPR and hears the “Democratic, liberal” shows, and he also listens to the conservative stars (Limbaugh and Huckabee, but he won’t listen to Hannity and Levin because they are too bombastic). I read our LOCAL newspaper, not some online propaganda site, and I also participate in several very liberal local music groups, and I feel that I get a much more down-to-earth and real-life view of the President’s actions.

Please seek out BOTH sides of the issue, and stop listening to the same liberals who demand new interpretations of the the U.S. Constitution that the Founding Fathers never intended, abortion rights and same-sex marriage, suppression of religious rights, suppression of 2nd Amendment rights, higher crushing taxes from those of us who work (their form of distributism), and virtually-open borders for people who have no intention of ever taking on the responsibility of American citizenship.

Angelic intercessions:

Prayer to the Guardian Angel of the United States Prayer Intentions
Prayer to the Guardian Angel of the United States O Glorious Guardian Angel of the United States, to whom God has entrusted the care of our beloved country, we honor you and thank you for the care and protection you have given to this great nation from the first moment of its inception. O Powerful Angel Guardian, whose watchful glance encompasses this vast land from shore to shore, we know that our sins have grieved you and marred the beauty of our heritage. Pray for us. O Holy Angel, before …

Pro-birth, yes. Pro-life, no. Being pro-life means nursing life, especially the vulnerable, until natural death. That is what the Gospel calls us to, not worshipping Mammon.

I’m 60. I’ve seen lots of politicians come and go. I see nothing in this man truly consistent with Gospel values. He is Darwinian, survival of the strongest, the rest be damned.

Christ calls us to so much more than that.

Now is the very time to increase your faith in God and His will as is seen in the behaviour of the Church. If God wishes to intervene then He will, and He will use all resources He has at His command including the power of the redoubtable Catholic Church. No man lives without God’s consent. We can’t see the divine plan but it exists as you know.

Hang in there, be calm and pray for God’s assistance. In God we trust.

but yet I have not herd any condemnation of him from my church
When I’ve read statements from the bishops about current events, they’ve supported issues that are contrary to what Trump supports (examples: supporting Obamacare in lieu of a better plan, supporting environmental protections, supporting immigrants [even the undocumented], ect.) And there have been cases where the bishops have spoken against a policy he’s enacted. If you’re interested in following what they say, I would recommend following the bishops on Twitter as one way to get the latest. So if part of your crisis in faith is that the bishops aren’t saying anything, please don’t let it take away your faith.

Sometimes my mind wanders too. (Especially if I’m half-asleep.) What I do is just a continuous refocusing after I realize I was wandering. And if my mind’s too wandersome at the time, perhaps pick up the prayer later.

And if I may ask you a question, is it just the politics that’s giving you trouble? Or are there other questions tied into things?
