My wife and I need some helping selecting the name for our 6th child (a girl). Our other daughters’ names are Sarah Elizabeth, Hannah Margaret, and Rebekah Catherine. We are trying to find a name that would fit in with her sisters’ names and would fit with the naming pattern (Biblical/saint first name, royalty middle name [though this was more an accident then by design]). Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Some pretty girls names from the bible are: Phoebe, Anna, Esther, Abigail, Mary, Miriam, Deborah, Joanna, Naomi, Julia, or Chloe. There ia also Claudia (Pilate’s wife who told him not to harm Jesus) and while not in the bible, there is that tradition found in the Stations of the Cross that a woman named Veronica helped wipe Jesus’ face with her veil.

Anna (Biblical) Victoria (Royalty)?

Benedicta!

That way she will always have a connection to the pope who was reigning when she was born!

Plus, there was a famous royal named Benedicta. See: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benedicta_Henrietta_of_the_Palatinate

This would be such a UNIQUE name for her!

Your nickname for her could be “Benna.” How cute!

There are way to many Chloes and Hannahs nowadays!

A kid’s name is important for his/her self esteem. My wife and I used this book to select names for our kids:

abebooks.com/servlet/BookDetailsPL?bi=979637615&searchurl=an%3Danderson%26sts%3Dt%26tn%3Dthe%2Bname%2Bgame

It has lists of names and what people think they mean [e.g., “Bertha” means fat]. The author’s thesis is that a person will become what others think his/her name means, so a girl named Bertha will grow up to be fat. I think there is a lot of truth in it.

You can also check the social security website for the popularity of names by year. You probably don’t want her to be the millionth “Jennifer” in her class.

Mary Victoria, Mary Regina (Regina means queen), magdalen rose

Let us know what you decide!! Good luck!

My favorites are Therese and Odilia, and I like Victoria for a middle name

Since you already have a Sarah and a Rebekah, mabey Rachel Diana (beautiful), Teresa Angela, Martina Rose vise versa (St. Martin and St. Rose, if you’re a fan of Peruvian saints), Marie Elena…oooh…ooh I KNOW!:rolleyes:CLARE(means beauty, light)…Clare Lucy…:(Mabey not? I know alot of names but not good at combining…Isadora(St. Isadore)?Scholastica?Agatha?Ida?Irene?Gertrude?Frances(love that one)…Faustina…Magdalena…Leah…Ruth(widow)…Judith(brave, chopped guy’s head off), Ester. Did you name the baby already?Just ask God, hes much better at names than me than me.

I like Abigail Rose
Mary is always a winner 🙂
Mary Olivia would be beautiful too

Congrats by the way.

Lorrie

Savannah Grace

Blair Gisele

Isabella Rose

…Those don’t really follow your request of biblical first name and royal middle name, but they are a couple of my favorites and what I plan on naming my future daughter(s).

Cecilia Rose

Cecilia is actually one of the names on my list, should I ever have a girl. I don’t know that I would use Rose, but I do like the combo. I’d probably use Elizabeth with Cecilia, but you already have a daughter w/ Elizabeth for the middle name. 🙂

So true. My grandma’s name is Bertha, and she’s not shall we say a small lady. Birthed 8 kids did she. Anyway, I inherited her hips referred to “Bertha’s birthing hips”. 😦

Parents really need to think carefully about all the ramifications of what same they choose for their child. Weird or unique names/spellings make for a nightmare growing up with constantly correcting people/legal documents. Not to mention growing up, the kids at school will taunt the child about it.

my biblical/faith based faves are:

-clare
-grace
-lucy
-ruth
-theresa

some of these not totally common, but all really beautiful!

Hi there Army Vet…

I know my name is not Biblical, but you can name her after me… 😃

Best regards
Pamela Nicole 😃

Take a look at the saint’s who’s feast’s are celebrated on her Estimated Due date and around it. That may give you some Ideas.

Similarly you could look forward to the Sundays over the following several months looking for likely days when you might have her Baptised. Again you may find inspiration from saints of the day.
This website lists all the saints for any day:

If you want a royal middle name for a girl, I can think of no better name than Isabel, after Queen Isabel of Spain. If you want to read more about her, this book is very good.
