well, my teacher gave us links to sites that she thought were good. unfortunately, their search engines use google, and i just cant find a thing. so if you all could help me with these questions, that would be great. they are about st.patrick.

1.) date of canonization
2.)profession or vocation
3.)personal qualities that others are called to model
4.)one challenge he made to young people

thanks!

1.) date of canonization
St patrick was never formally canonized, except possibly locally. At the time of his death it was not uncommon for persons to be declared saints by popular acclaim by the faithful, much like the current movement to have our late Holy Father declared John Paul the Great. The Church does affirm that Patrick is a saint, though.
2.)profession or vocation
Missionary bishop. Prior to that, a slave swineherd.

And the rest you should research yourself. I don’t know what websites your teacher recommended, but the Catholic Encyclopedia is generally good for this sort of thing.

btw, what’s the problem with google?

Read “The Confession of St.Patrick” it’s a good way to capture his thoughts. St. Patrick relied on God heavily. Ireland in his time [late 4th and early 5th c.] was a land full of warriors and it was very savage. He faced death and danger daily but still pressed on to preach the Gospel. His total faith and reliance on our Lord is what got him through. He is a perfect example that we need to trust God no matter what. The Lord sustained and strengthend him during 6 or so years of slavery, the Lord protected him as he escaped traveling around 200 miles to the coast, the Lord provided him a way back home to British shores, the Lord delivered him safely from dangerous waters during the voyage home. These are just some examples how St. Patty had to trust God fully to get him through. Once home and after years of religious study Patrick had a calling to come back to Ireland and preach the Gospel. - You never know what God has in store for you!
