You can’t change someone, and you shouldn’t enter into a relationship thinking that you can.

It’s a tough call. You might date her and she might change her mind and come around to believing in the faith, but there is also the chance she may never will.

In the end it boils down to if you can be happy with someone who doesn’t share your faith?

I suppose it doesn’t hurt to try, but that is your call. I hope this helps you make your decision.

You don’t change people. Don’t go into anything thinking you can.

Dating is a discernment process but it is also an occassion of sin.

I think its important to remember these two points.

If you like the girl, I think getting to know her and asking her out is certainly a fine thing to do. If you don’t know her that well you can’t say how she will be as a lifelong partner, you just have to wait and see…thats what dating is for! BUT it is important that if you do date to remember to let your reason control you. That is, you must keep enough distance so that your reason controls your emotions. Getting infatuated can lead to problems. Of course there is natural desire but still letting reason run the show is important…

Also, if she doesn’t share your faith you have to be careful with the occassion of sexual sin. It can be extremely tempting when a girl is willing to do something sinful. The only barrier at that point is your own desire not to sin. In a moment of weakness this is often enough. So be aware of that.

Finally, getting married involves sharing the faith. As things progress it is important to share this and to keep your distance so that you don’t let any girl take that faith away from you or weaken it. Not dating someone because they aren’t as religious is probably a bad idea if the dating is casual, imo. I think it can be a good oppurtunity to share the faith with someone. As long as you let your reason control things and you always stay 100% close to God through prayer and faith then yes go for it!

Talk with her if you like her. And if you respect her, she will probably like that, unless she is complicated (nice term for wacked). Dating is for all the discovering and influencing each other. Marriage is when you decide to Love the person through everything, weather they change or not.
I say, treat her special. Enjoy her company. Show her that Catholic guys are true romantics;) Bless her

God bless you,
Michael

One more thing:
Don’t do it just to change the girl. If you like her and you see it going somewhere of course be happy to share your faith with her. Don’t not date her just because of her faith but don’t date her just to convert her either.

If you find out she isn’t gonna budge you may realize the relationship isn’t going anywhere. You may realize this for other reasons to. Don’t let this hurt you though. It can be tough if you really like the girl and you get attached. You will really want them to accept the faith so that you can take the relationship further but that may not be possible. That’s why its important to not kill yourself over it. You are a Christian, share that with all who God calls you to share it with. But don’t let it bother you who doesn’t accept it. This is kind of what Christ told his Apostles.

That’s why its a bad idea to get too serious/attached to fast. That’s also why dating involves lots of prayer and it should be a very discerinment type process.

No she isn’t for you. I am not one for grammar correction but seriously fix this post please

Only God can change a person. Unfortunately, a relationship won’t accomplish that. I suggest you pray for this girl, and also for God to reveal to you who He intends for you.
God Bless!

You can hope to change people but you shouldn’t really jump into something that depends on change.

At the same time, I wouldn’t always write off anybody who’d need to change some things if we were to get it moving. After all, you can always talk about it.

But I wouldn’t really count on getting far with a person whose immaturity is disturbing to you (if her friends’ immaturity applies also to her). Don’t get your hopes high and don’t be too reluctant to let go.

Don,t think more about it .Every one had different thinking about this situation but you need to do that what you want to do and its better for you . I think all things will be all right with the passage of time and you feel comfortable and reliable .Just wait for correct time and then talk with her about this matter .
