I’m driven to insanity, despair, anguish, and rage wondering why God gave me such a tough lot that I generally wish my mother had miscarried and that I’ve been mildly suicidal for many many years, attempting once, but it’s always in the back of my mind. I’d much rather have an easy life (being modestly rich) and spend way more “time” in purgatory, at least my salvation would be assured. Whereas me still struggling (not really financially but in every other aspect of life) is almost a sure ticket to rebellion and hell. I’m in utter confusion as to what to do, where to go, who to listen to etc. Help appreciated.

Hi Robertanthony!
So sorry you are “in utter confusion as to what to do, where to go, who to listen to etc.”
When you feel like that, nothing much that anyone says will make much sense. I however urge you to read these words carefully, with humility and trust in God, knowing deep down that He is always there for each and everyone of us, including you Robertanthony! So please,
“Trust in the Lord and gain strength and wisdom.
All things are possible through prayer.
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and soul”
Merry Christmas!
Will pray for you!

Footprints

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed He was walking along the beach with the LORD. Across the sky flashed scenes from His life. For each scene He noticed two sets of footprints in the sand. One belonging to Him and the other to the LORD.
When the last scene of His life flashed before Him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of His life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times of His life.
This really bothered Him and He questioned the LORD about it. LORD you said that once I decided to follow you, you’d walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life there is only one set of footprints. I don’t understand why when I needed you most you would leave me.
The LORD replied, my precious, precious child, I Love you and I would never leave you! During your times of trial and suffering when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you.

Lord please help Robert to overcome his emotional distress.I pray You will comfort him and guide him and brogn people into his life who will show him love and support.Lord in Your mercy hear our prayers Amen

Lord, I am in this world to show Your mercy to others.
Other people will glorify You
by making visible the power of Your grace
by their fidelity and constancy to You.
For my part I will glorify You
by making known how good You are to sinners,
that Your mercy is boundless
and that no sinner no matter how great his offences
should have reason to despair of pardon.
If I have grievously offended You, My Redeemer,
let me not offend You even more
by thinking that You are not kind enough to pardon Me.

Amen.

Sorry things are going so wrong, praying for better times. You should go see a Priest talk some of this out. Get involved in positive things church can and will help if you make the effort. Prayers for you my friend.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now, and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. :signofcross:

The Enemy’s been gaining ground on me until my life became governed by fear and a host of other negative emotions. Fear of life and of others have lead me to retreat inward big time. Being that self-absorbed does nothing good to a child of God. I feel like Golum in Lord of the Rings: one minute I think God can be trusted ,the next I have a gut feeling (backed by some destructive childhood stuff) that I’m pretty much on my own and that God’s best will make me revisit some of the miseries that I’m dying to run away from and forget about. I’ll try making it a daily habit to pray the Mystery of the day (Rosary) and see what it does (I’m actually thankful Jesus “gave” us his mother to pray to knowing some of us didn’t have stellar biological fathers). Thanks to all for including me in your prayers.

Well, it seems like you have diagnosed the problem and is actually treating it!
Keep it up.
Remember these words of Our Lady of Guadalupe to Saint Juan Diego.

“Do not be troubled or weighted down with grief.
Do not fear any illness or anxiety.
Am I not here?
I am your mother.
Are you not under my protection?
Do I not hold you in the folds of my mantle?
Is there anything else you need?”

Merry Christmas Robertanthony! 👋

Remember, O most loving Virgin Mary,
that never was it known,
that anyone who fled to your protection,
implored your help, or sought your intercession,
was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence,
though burdened by my sins,
I fly to you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother.
To you I come, before you I stand,
sinful and sorrowful.
O Mother of the Word Incarnate,
despise not my petitions, but in your mercy,
hear and answer me.
Amen.

Memorare (Prayer to Our Lady)
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession, was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy, hear and answer me. Amen

A priest read today, “This is my Son in whom I am well pleased.” Then he said that those of us who are baptized have a right to be joyful because God the Father considers us one of His own. Then the priest said, “According to St. Francis, the devil rejoices the most when he robs someone of their joy.”

May the Queen of Heaven pray for you.

Robert, I hope things have improved for you since you last posted. I am praying that you will gain hope and increase in faith and that Jesus sends you people to help you when you are feeling distressed. God sees all things and He is with you.
Matthew 6:19-21
"Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust consume and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consumes and where thieves do not break in and steal.
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
