Need help

Hello. I am 24 years old and I have paranoid schizophrenia. I am mental patient since I was 15. I also have manifestations of evil spirit. I am seeing an exorcist about 2 years. I want to be normal and healthy person, but I still feel that spirit. And I am not sure will it ever go out.

Is here anyone who has or had this kind of problem too? Or maybe someone has a rational advice that could help?

I am sorry to hear of your illness. I can’t imagine the difficulties it causes you. My brother is severely bi-polar, so I do know I had it is for him and the family to walk this path.

All I can suggest is work toward balance and as much routine as possible. So: take your medications as prescribed and don’t skip them; get regular sleep; take time for prayer and silence; if you are unable to work maybe you could take up a hobby to occupy some of your time. I have heard that there are certain food additives that can create more trouble for certain mental health conditions, so looking into a more organic diet might be helpful.

These are just some of my thoughts. Oh, yes…when you feel the evil spirits you mentioned just say the Our Father and the Hail Mary over a few times. If there is something evil that will act to protect you and banish it. It is a practical way to address any fears, sense of darkness through our faith. It can act to be a way to calm your self down as well. Prayer works wonders.

Prayers (mine and exorcist’s) really changed a lot of things. And the confession. And after visiting Šiluva’s Mother Mary I got this opportunity to move from my old home where I didn’t get along with my sister. It was a miracle for me that also changed my situation for better. I feel a lot better since I started to believe in Jesus. But when I asked my exorcist is there such a possibility that evil spirit won’t go away, he said that it is possible. And when I feel that spirit more than usual I just am afraid that it will be like that always.

But in June I will get the confirmation sacrament, so maybe it will help too.
