Hi everyone …

I’m new to the Catholic Faith and I’m still learning about traditional practices and devotions, that aren’t as popular as they used to be.
I recently agreed to help with the youth program at our Church. This year we want to revive the practice of crowning Mary with a wreath of flowers on May 1st.
To help educate the students - I am looking for reliable info regarding the history and tradition of this devotion.
Does anyone have links to information on this subject??
Thanks for any help you can give me…

It’s a lovely devotion, one that our church does every year. We have a statue of Our Lady of Walsingham that is brought out and placed just in front of the sanctuary. The children from our local primary school come in and have a special Mass and they get to crown her with a beautiful circlet of flowers, and sing “Bring flowers of the fairest”

We are very blessed to have a parish priest who has a great love of Our Lady.
